Many possible causes.  None that much more likely than another.  Consider any of the following:

swingarm bushings
neck bearings/neck tightness
motor mounts
wheel bearings/wheels/tires

Leaking shift shaft seals are a not uncommon problem.  It's a relatively extensive task to fix though.  Outer primary has to come off.  Then complete compensator, chain and clutch then inner primary.  The seal is small and cheap.  Getting there isn't.  Hopefully it's a chore you can do yourself some rainy or snowy Sunday afternoon with the game on in the background.

Get the replacement seal from a company called Cometic.  It's better than the original equipment part.

Have fun getting it sorted.  Check the swingarm bushings very closely.  Especially if they're something you're familiar with it can be difficult to recognize how worn they might be.  If chasing handling problems it's not a terrible idea to replace them prophylactically.  Just under 30,000 miles isn't a lot for swingarm bushings.  But they're still 10+ years old now.  If you do change them consider adding the bushings at the following link to the stock swingarm bushings.  They're a worthwhile improvement toward stiffening things up.  If you think the existing swiingarm parts are worth keeping you could add the Rivera bushings to what's there too.  Can't hurt.
