Q, since getting my heated stuff I've only had a half dozen occasions to need it.  And one of those were much cooler than low 30s outside.  So far, however, I've gotten by quite satisfactorily with the jacket (liner) and gloves.  Combination of long undies, jeans and leggings or chaps do ok for the lower extremities.  That's all tucked in behind the lowers though.  Without those would likely be a different proposition.

I have the Garmin hacket and G3 gloves.  Riding to work in the AM it can be 40-45 outside and I never have them on full blast.

Although it is not possible to ride in Russia in the winter I am riding a bit during cold wheather here. I quite like heated grips and good windshield. On my bimmer I had a heated seat and that was nice for a bit however, I feel that is not that necessary. My feeling is that heated grips is a very wise thing.

Well Tovarich, I hope your experience with the heated grips is better than what many have shared.  They have been something of a weak point for many so far as longevity in service is concerned.  Good luck!

We always used Gerbing heated liners vest & Pants in 2000 we switched to the union Ridge gerbins Suit over all it warms the best and all you need to wear under it  is a t-shirt and jeans even in deep winter.

more info here: http://www.gerbing.com/divmc/clothing/urjacket.html#

We (USA) put a man on the moon in 1969 so you should be able to ride a Motorcycle in the winter Time Ain't america Great!

Q, you're problem is timing.  Need to get stuff like this when folks are asking "what do you want for Christmas this year, we can never find anything for you."  Then you do them the great service.  You tell 'em.

Q,
Don't worry about cold weather gear hopefully by the time you get to Va. you will be able to get rid of all that "extreme" cold stuff. Maybe chaps, leather jacket, and gloves will be all that is needed.

Hmm, there is that love again. Tell you what.... Since you have decided to come, and you are coming alone this is what I'm going to do. I'm going to wear that thong, put on a blonde wig, and ride "b*tch" on the back of your scooter. [smiley=nervous.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

bd,
If you look at www.derbycycles.com you may find some pretty good deals on the gerbing's stuff.  They were closing out their 05/06 stuff for the incoming new stuff.  Got a good (great) deal on a jacket liner.  Since I tend to be very warm natured, I may only use it once or twice, but the deal was good enough to not pass it up.  Email them and they'll look for stuff.  The website indicated they were sold out of my size, but after an email, I had one on the way.  Good people with good service.
