Hello Arland,
Thanks for your kind thoughts. We got through the storm with minor damage to the siding and roof and lost a few trees. Thank you Lord! Power, phones, internet all out and will be for some time, but I'm not complaining. As you can see on the news reports, the people along the coast were devastated. So sad to see, but at least loss of life was limited considering the extent of the storm.
Manhattan is a mess, especially south of 39th Street. No power and extensive flooding means no water, phone, elevators, toilets, subway etc. and this is a densely populated area. My son Michael is on the NYPD and is telling me that they are getting concerned about breakdown of order due to the conditions. Looting and muggings are escalating and is sure to get worse.
The World Trade Center has suffered extensive flooding of sea water and the lower 3 levels are underwater. That would be about 100 feet deep over many acres and these are the areas where much of the mechanical systems are located. I'm heading there today to help develop recovery plans. I'll post some photos later.
Thanks again for your concern.
Best wishes,
Tom P.
