I installed the Polks last weekend and am happy with the results. It's not a huge improvement over stock but I think the bass sounds better on the road.  [smiley=ears.gif]

I installed Boston Acoustic speakers a couple of weeks ago. Much improvement over stock, standing or moving. One very apparent thing is the Boston

Thanks!  92dB is a decent sensitivity rating but there are better, so I'm surprised you noticed that large of a difference.  The stockers must be in the mid-80's or something.  Anyway, thanks for the information.  I think I'm gonna try a set!

In a home system it takes 100 additional watts to increase the sound pressure level by 3db. I based my decision on previous experience with much more expensive Boston Acoustic equipment that I have owned in my cars. If you move up to the next more expensive speaker, the sensitivity actually drops by 2db.I listened to them both in a dealer

I asked the dealer that before I put then in. He said waster resistant would better define them. The cones are polymer and I figured for $80 on $32K bike if they lasted 2 years I would throw them away. I have washed the bike at least 6 times since I owned them, intentionally spraying water on the speakers (I am not recommending). Because if they are going to fail I want them to fail here and not on a trip. So far so good.  [smiley=divers009.gif]

Perhaps the factory speakers in the SEEG are better than the normal ones, I don't know.

I was actually doing a little homework on the radio and audio system on these bikes this weekend.  Unbeknownst to me previously the audio systems we got are a step up from those installed on the rest of the Glides.  The SEEGs (at least in 05) got what is available over the counter as HD part number 76350-04.  It's a radio with a built in 60w amp and a few other minor differences.  This kit, however, is why we've got the 4 ohm speakers and the rest of the Glides are 8 ohm.

Hey All

Pez here aka the guy who put his scoot up to finance HOGTUNES. Leo (GEEZERGLIDE) bought some stuff from me today and told me about this site--VERY COOL!

Anyways-since there was already a post going about speakers, I thought I should let people know I can answer any questions they have--been in the audio biz for tooooo long--but learned a few good things along the way.

My site is www.hogtunes.com     my email is info@hogtunes.com

And it is true that forum members get 10%off

Cheers all!
