One day on the savannah Baby Zebra was drinking from the pond and saw his reflection. A thought came to mind and he went and asked his mom, "Am I a white horse with black stripes, or a black horse with white stripes". His mom told him, "Son, you shouldn't worry about such things, I never do. But if you really want to know, go ask Mr. Owl, for he is the wisest among us". So baby zebra goes and asks the owl. The owl replies, "The answer to such a profound question must come from inside of you. I bid thee go pray on your knees every day, and God will answer it".
So baby zebra goes home, and every day he drops to his knees and prays. He asks only for Knowledge of self and for God to direct him on this journey of self discovery. Weeks go by and one day from deep inside he hears a voice say, "Baby Zebra, you are just as I created you, perfect and with no flaws. Know that you are loved. You are what you are".
Filled with this self discovery Baby Zebra goes back to Mr. Owl. He says that he clearly heard Gods message come from within, but that he does not understand it, and it does not answer his question. Mr. Owl says, "Tell me what the inner voice said". So he tells Mr. Owl that the inner voice said "Baby Zebra, you are just as I created you, perfect and with no flaws. Know that you are loved. You are what you are".
Mr. Owl rolls his eyes and quickly says, "Ahhh,.... you're white".
Baby Zebra asks "How do you know"?
Mr. Owl replies,..."Because if you were black, the voice would have said,......'You is what you is".
