Heel toe shifter size, 2008 Road King CVO
« on: December 31, 2012, 05:39:04 PM »

Haven't picked up the bike yet, still stored at the dealers for another week or two.  Does anyone know if my 13" boot will fit between the stock heel to shifter?  I just thought of it now and wasn't really paying much attention when I bought it.  Too many sparkly things catching my eye at the time  ::)

just cant your foot to the inside or the outside if it bothers you.  i don't have that large a foot, but the heel shifter is right in the way of where i want my heel to go.  got the extended shift lever from the cvo, and it doesn't help enough.  so i went back to the spacer and only the toe shifter.

I say no your 13" boot won't fit between the toe shifter and the heel shifter, because mine didn't fit and it is only 11". Well mine would fit but sometimes it would get stuck. Heel shifter was one of the first things I removed after my first ride. It cramped my movement. It limited my foot positions. I never used it on any of my other bikes. Most of the time I ride with both feet/toes pointed out, like in the pic from Cherahala Skyway.

Just measured the space between heel and toe shift levers on the SERG  -  10 1/2".  Measured my boot  -  12".  Have never had a problem w/ both levers in place.   I like to upshift w/ my heel, so both levers stay.  "To each his own".

I have the heel/toe with a size 13. Never noticed a problem and wouldn't do without it. Like was said before "to each his own". :2vrolijk_21:

Sort of a personal thing.  I have size 11 boot with no problem with heel shift.  Buddy has a size 9 and took heel shift off!  Go figure

If it doesn't, just take the rear shifter off.

1sharprdkg, x2 on getting rid of the heal shifter. When I was riding my 95 Heritage I had two occassions where the bike was idling, I hopped on and my friggen chaps got caught on the rear shifter and kicked it into first. Nothing happend because I had a good grip on the bars but it was close. Heal shifter came off that day. I had the rear shifter removed before I ever picked up my 09. By the way nice bike.CAHDBIKER
