Color & Diamond Cut: And So It Begins
« on: September 12, 2006, 04:05:31 PM »

Not much to show for all the time spent so far but the cylinder head bridges came back to me today.  Had requested Diamond Heads send these home rather than have them travel unnecessarily with the heads and cylinders.  Heads and cylinders should arrive at Zippers in another day or three.

Even limited progress is progress though.  Were it not for extended delays at Sumax's hands I might have everything here to me and done about now.  But nothing to be done other than wait.  So here for a first glimpse are the bridges.

Just a clue what it'll look like in the head.

Resting on the saddlebag for comparison and contrast of the color I selected against the bike itself.

First reaction is that the faceting on the diamond cut is the really eye catching part.  Different angles reflects the light in several different directions.  Pretty cool actually.  Now very much looking forward to seeing this done on the larger field of the complete cylinders and heads.

The color looks good.  The contrast and sharpness of the diamond cut makes the color jump far more than it would on its own though.  They are a great combination.  Having seen these small pieces, however, if I had to choose one or the other it would be the diamond cutting.

Thanks guys.  I think the look is going to be very sharp.  Brian, like you I am very certain I'm liking look the combination better than either of them separately.  Individually I'm guessing the diamond cutting may have actually been the more dramatic of the two.  It's a cool look just seeing the light glint off the facets in several different directions.  But the two tasks together really look sharp.  Now just have to wait for the rest of the parts to wander through the process.

 [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]  Very Very Nice!

This mod is way out of my pocketbook level, but WoW!  That does indeed look fantastic.
Not that you needed anyone's approval, but I can't imagine anyone thinking you did anything less then the right thing, if indeed this was the direction you were going to go.   ;)

Watch out, I see more arrows coming your way from the general direction of grc's house!

That is going to look awesome!  That photo of the bridges glisening next to the stock grey heads is unreal!  I'll never do this either, but that is going to be a sight to behold!

Those look awesome I can't wait to see the final project done. BTW I noticed something, you are going to need the red plug wires (another blue arrow :)) to keep that red theme going.

'd00d,

Not only will he need the red plug wires, he will also need the red LED's, and if they still make them the red line tires. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Don - that really looks great.  Can't wait to see the entire package.
