Does anyone know of a product that will restore Gelcoat that has been exposed to sunlight/weather?
NOT waxes!

You've got to get the oxidation off...I'd use a light cutting compound like Glare, then a lighter one, then a final coat of Glare Pro Polish.  It will feed the Gelcoat and you'll be good to go...Been there, done that.

Mothers, Meguairs, Dupont, 3M all make gelcoat products. Try one of those, go to a boat supply and get some suggestions. Gelcoat is very durable but can be etched pretty easily and is very thin, once you screw it up, it is going to have to be resprayed to return the finish to like new, go to far and you are thru the gelcoat just like clearcoat on a car. Be careful, use good stuff, do some research on fiberglas site.

I would not recommend poliglow. If you ever want to get it off it's impossible. I put it on a boat and then wanted to paint it. What a job....

That is what makes is so good.....why go to the effort to restore the faded gel coat just to have to remove all the product to paint it :nixweiss:

If it was easy to remove it would not be doing it's job...protecting the gel coat :2vrolijk_21:
