So I'm just curious, S&S  lifter's anyone have 50 K on them?  Seriously how long do they last I'm good for the extra money, if they're going to last I mean everyone says replace the 99 B's at 26 k and don't buy that 99 C's sorry if I'm a little confused here.  I found a new set of 99 B's for sale just looking for a little advice here not trying to upset anyone, everyone's input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks again!

Given the choice, I would buy the S&S over the 99b's, but I wouldnt be worried about having 99b's either.   I currently have over 50k on S&S lifters in my 124 with travel limiters.

You initially asked about what extras might go along with a simple bit of cam chest work; isn't that right?  How'd you get from there to pulling the engine completely, splitting the cases and sending the crank off?  If power of suggestion works that well I've got a whole cabinet full of various spare parts (some might even fit) that really need to be part of your build that will all sell for very fair prices ;D .

I just talked to S&S the link SBB gave me had parts included that S&S said I didn't need for the build I'm doing for $279. The teck guy @ S&S gave me a part number 33-5350 for just the lifter's and $133 list price: $11.00 more than Harley 99 c's.

First off I would consider reposting this in a manner that will get answers that are directly related to your original questions.  Don nailed it pretty accurately being concerned with the vast amounts of parts recommended for your project.  I will also admit to knowing next to nothing except what I have learned from this forum for the past 5 years or so. Like many others on this site I know a number of people that earn a living on these bikes while employed at either a HD dealerships, independent shops and high performance shops.  From what I have read here or been told & seen first hand from professionals I know I would expect to see a new or slightly used T/C motor with more than the .003 or .004 run out.  This was posted as causing a major concern.  I know he is right being concerned but I believe more bikes are over .003 than under and that is counting the new ones.  I have two nephews (twins) that each purchased Road Glide last summer with the 103' motor.  They ride real easy and each bike had less than 5K miles.  One is a car mechanic and decided to do a similar project that you are planning on both bikes.  One run out was .005 and one was .0075.  My 08 just happens to be close to 11, so its needs to be addressed.  I agree that it is excessive but it is also normal in the HD world and they won't touch it until it is out to 12 I believe.   No intention of stirring the pot only stating facts as I know them, high run out is much more common than people are led to believe and that is real unfortunate and quite possibly unnecessary by HD.

Good Luck

I would highly recommend having your run out measured.  Once you have your information it will tell you what direction you need to go.  My decision was easy but expensive, I had planned to get hard bags and a few other items, but the 110 is coming out and a S&S 124 is going in.  Didn't want to spend that much but the measurement made my decision for me.

Silverone, so you are running gear drives now? (the gears)Gear drives are usually noisy if the run out is bad. Having bad run out is not changed by keeping the cam you have. Keeping the old cam won't make it better and getting the new cam won't make it worse. Lifters are a really overworked part of the equation, so it is good to replace them, regardless. SE or S&S would be a good choice. I would still have the run out checked by a well versed mechanic.

I was definitely confused on that point ;D. What I posted on the run out still stands.

Reason for my comment is that the '07 year, seems to have uncommonly more sissoring issues than that of other 4.375" cranks.
2004, and early 2005's were the most prone on the 88"ers.
Only sharing what we've seen here.

I have a question for everyone, the dealer wants $2500 for a 5 year extended warranty on an 07 SE110 with a set of after market cams and better than stock lifters. Would I be better off putting that money in the bank, and see if some thing breaks? Your thought's will be greatly appreciated!
