Sorry to hear about your mishap (been there done that myself).  Most road rash is the same as a burn and shuold be treated as such.  I also am not a doctor but have seen and experienced great results with aloe vera.  If you will soak the wonds in or with it (you can use a soaked rag) several times a day for a few weeks you will probably not get scaring.  I had a friend with 3rd degree burns and they treaded him with rags soaked in Aloe and you can not tell he was burned.  You may want to check with a doctor anyway but I truely believe in the power of Aloe.  Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
