If your point is that chasing more power is futile and a waste of money, you are correct.  The further someone takes this quest for bragging rights and ego massage, the more correct you are.  However, since the typical Harley owner is all about ego and macho and bragging rights, don't expect to see anything change.  Besides, if everyone refused to throw many thousands of dollars at their already overpriced Harley's, Harley and the various aftermarket companies would need a massive bailout to remain in business.  In other words, shame on you for trying to destroy all those jobs and profits.  Commie pinko agitator!

Zoom, my poor, naive little friend.

I agree that it's a waste of time and money, but if you get two or more men in the same room (or forum), we will compete with each other.  It's in our DNA;  it's a biological imperative.  Don't fight it, just give in to the Dark Side.  It's your destiny.

Plus, it's a lot of fun.  The process of planning, building, and feeling the results of our work gives purpose and meaning to our empty lives of quiet despair. :beatdeadhorse:

The little "wink" emoticon wasn't put there by accident.

Just picked up my 13 RG CVO last weekend and put the first 200 miles on it. I was pleasantly surprised at  how well it ran stock. Pulled like a tractor and pretty good throttle response and I am coming off a 165 HP BMW K1600 and don't feel under powered. I owned a Ducati that I over tuned to the point that it had abrupt on off throttle response that was a little scarey so not all tuning is good, some times more is not better. All this said a fullsac stage 1 is in my future, as soon as my bank account I recovers from the original purchase.

Wasting of time and money ? Whose money and who's time. How can one person tell another person he is wasting time and money ? Is it his time or his money ? Its only a waist of time and money to those who have little or either of Both. Its 100% based on opinion. Two people with no children and no plans to have any, buy a 6000sf 5 bedroom 4 bath house, and then add on by putting a pool and tennis court. Is this a waist of time and money ? Maybe to a guy living in a doublewide.
I spend time and money on my perfect CVO every chance I get. I bought an Ultra and converted it to a StreetGlide to have both. Spent $3,000. And I loved every second of waisted time I spent.

I just like to be able to easily run away from all the lowlife trailer trash baggers I ride with. You know, the ones whose bike model designations do not end with "SE(n)"...  :coolblue:

Except that ONE smartass on an FXR4... I HATE that guy!

5 to 10hp more perfect?? and around and around we go!!!!!!!!!!!

I should prolly use a fictious name for this one, but why think 5-10 thats pipes, tune and a maybe even a poor cam.   If your gonna go go big.  think 40-50 or stay on the porch like Spidey :)  (maybe he will read this)  :huepfenlol2:

I agree 5 ain't worth majority won't even notice it except for reducing the heat as said, but more why not, its all the rage these days.

There is something to be said for knowing Maudie the Moped blew up trying to keep up with you !  (key word was trying)
