yellowing 110 label on rear jug?
« on: October 23, 2006, 01:52:47 PM »

In comparision to the "Sreaming Eagle 110" label on my front jug, it looks like the rear one is starting to yellow from the heat.

Mine did the same thing. Its also in for a bent exhaust valve on the rear cyl. so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it.

Sounds like the heat is discoloring the thin screw on plate on the jugs like it colors an exhaust pipe...

Still can't belive the "Motor-Co" used a "cheap plate" instead of casting the 110 into the jugs like the previous generation CVO bikes...

Does the head issue have anything to do with the compression releases?

To the best of my knowledge, no. But now that you bring it up , since they have it all apart now would be a great time to ask about it & actually see it.

My rear jug was yellowed as well - I think these are removable so I will get me a new one now that my SERT is in and hopefully my bike is running cooler.....

Harley went with an internal compression release in the heads on the 110".

I don't seem to notice any extra heat as some of you maybe there is some hot and some not in these 07's. Anyway mine is still stock and only 300 miles so far and oil temp is about the same as my 00 road king with mods. 212 and 225 after riding an hour or so in about 70 degree temps.
