Molly Hatchet is a good ole Southern Rock Band that’s from Jacksonville, FL so they appeared in my area quite often.  Rumor has it that the band had taken their name from a prostitute that mutilated and decapitated her Johns.

It was not uncommon to see them with Lynyrd Skynyrd, .38 Special and the Outlaws since all of these bands were from Florida.

One of the founding members, Dave Hulbeck, is still in the group however he is not as mobile as he once was due to illness.

The band came out strong with several of their hits – Whisky Man, Gator Country, Flirtin’ with Disaster, Bounty Hunter and others.

Phil McCormack, Lead Singer, performs nicely in the role vacated by Danny Joe Brown, the original band member in this role.

Bobby Ingram, the other Lead Guitarist and replacement of Steve Holland the other founding member, has plenty of energy and the talent to back it up in the riffs!

Shawn Beamer rounds out the group on the drums and keeps the band in sync with all of the fast action of their southern sound.

You would never know that these were not the original vocalist from the group.




Phil McCormack is in possession of that gruff voice known for the group.




Bobby Ingram enjoys playing live and there is no loss of ability as a result of it.
