Went on a great fall ride here today, stopped at a local biker stop on the way back home for a beer (one is the limit).  Educated everyone on the Harley that i ride.

I installed some new grips by Arlen Ness.  Changed most of the motor bolts for polished stainless steel.   I had to take the tank off to do it, i was slightly intimedated. But it was really easy.  So while i was under there i ran my Power Vision tuner cable.  I also removed my header pipe in preperation for my Clarity cam cover.  So next weekend i will install the cam and derby cover and some Arlen Ness floor boards.

Isn't using stainless steel bolts in aluminum a no no?  Don't they react with each other and seize? Just wondering.

Put a couple hundred miles on riding up and down The Mighty Mississippi. Pretty cold in the AM, but afternoon was beautiful.

Yea use of tef-gel will help prevent that from happening. Most marine supply shops should have it.

Time to start getting ready for winter here, too.  SERG was first in line with an oil change and a bath today.  SEUC is clean on the outside, but still needs fresh fluids on the inside.  Should have both of 'em in their hibernating spots by this time next Sunday. :'(

That's sad....I really feel for all y'all in the North (yes, I really mean that...no joke) having to store your bikes for the Winter...brought a tear to my eye.. :(

.....Y'all really just need to move on down South...you'd be welcome with open arms, good weather and NO SNOW (at least now much snow...whatever we get don't last long).... :2vrolijk_21:

To early to put the MC away already. Going for a two day ride tomorrow, they predict 1/2" snow in the am but I don't believe it will stick.

I will winterize the MC when the real snow is here. (Duluth, MN) but I hope for another month of riding.

Actually getting ready to put the bike away within the next few weeks - the tourpak goes to the painter the first week of December so I know I'll be done riding for the season before then. I use to ride year round up until about 6 years ago - that's when CT decided to start using a liquid de-icing solution on all the roads -- that sh*t will eat the aluminum even if it is powder coated, and it maintains it's caustic effects for days after it's sprayed.
