Took a short scoot to beat the rain. Walked up to the building this AM. What? FFT!  :sauer005: Found the hitchhiker!

Ordered a new battery to replace the one I installed back in 2006 :soapbox:

They just don't make those batteries to last like they used too anymore!

I'm a big fan of pluggin'...

I'm just mindful that I do it and keep an eye on those repairs over the life of the tire.  Hasn't bitten me yet. Flame away...

I agree FXD, watch it closely and if should start to leak/crack at that spot......trash it!!

Pulled the ECM out to send back to RP - if they are actually doing any customer service.

Put it up on the jack, pushed it to the corner,  covered it and waiting for the spring rains.

Researched some lifts, I need to be able to move the bike around in the garage and take the weight off the tires.

I would be careful with that. Shock absorbers are designed to take the load pushing down on them, not hanging load. Not Sure how the HD shocks and fork are designed but for high end car suspension this is not a good idea. I doubt there is a mechanical stop in our units that would prevent a possible issue.

What? I leave my bike on the jack suspended every winter? Never have any issues... :nixweiss:

I also lift mine just enough to take the weight off tires, maybe 1/4 clearance.  No issues that I know of.

Sorry I have no info on MC shocks. Like I said it's an issue on high performance shocks, for high performance cars, so it might not be an issue on a MC but I would not do it.

If you are concerned with flats spots just move the MC once a month.

What happens to the shocks when they are sitting on the shelf in a box?

But thinking some more about it that would mean center stands would be bad as well and most store MCs with center stand on the actual center stand  :nixweiss: so I think my whole philosophy is wrong on bikes.

Think I will put mine up on the lift as well  :2vrolijk_21:

Well in a box no load or weight is exerting a force on the shocks
