I didn't care for my RT at all.  My GS Adventure on the other hand was more fun than should be allowed on two wheels.  That bike oozed character, and the wife loved riding on the back (which is bizarre, since she's only 5'2" tall).  Were it not for outrageous oil consumption, I'd still have that bike.

The K16 has more of a relaxed, upright (rather than arms forward and feet back) position that is comfortable for me.  Of course, I'll still add highway pegs, but that's just a no-brainer.  There's no getting around the fact though that they're just not pretty bikes (in the same way a Harley is).  My GS/A was badass to look at, but it wasn't a, "damn that bike looks good" at the gas pump sort of bike.

The K16 ain't either, though it's far from ugly.

I dunno, we'll see what happens at the dealer.  I'll either spend the weekend putting everything back on my bike, or loading down the classified section with a bumper crop of parts.

They're the 3" Kuryakyn lights that mount to the fender mounting bolts.

Two questions.

Do you happen to have the part number? I looked on Kuryakyn's site but couldn't find them.

Any idea how they compare to Moto Lights?

The Kuryakyn p/n is 5008. They are H3 halogen bulbs and so far have met my goal of filling in the area under the Daymakers with light. If you have a pile of extra cash laying around they sell an LED conversion for them -- but it's a few hundred bucks for that in addition to the $350 that the lights cost. I skipped that because I wanted the light to "spill" more than the LED's do.

I can't directly compare them to Motolights because no one I ride with has those. I can say the installation of the Kury ones was straightforward and clean.

Walked by the bike this morning before work.  This nice weather in St. Louis is killing, me since I have not been able to ride since Sunday.  Planning on going on a 100 mile ride tomorrow between projects.

 Collecting parts to do a big upgrade.  So far got a 58 mm TB, Merell Injectors, and just arrived is my new pipe. A V&H stainless Pro Pipe.  What a sweet piece of equipment. Will see what the dino  reads after the install in late Sept.

Took her in for the 15K service.   




put 5K on her in the last 3 months alone. It'll be time for some serious lovin on the bike this winter. (unless I spy a hellva good looking 2015 model before then, which looks doubtful).

Put 200 miles on it with the squeeze on the back. Pulled into the garage just in time. Rain started a few minutes later!
