... but motorcycles are it for me. ......Elvis was running like a Swiss watch at about 80, traffic was light and moving along smoothly, the sky was a gorgeous blue with white puffy clouds and the sun was still bright and warm. Every fiber of my being was in harmony with each other and my mind was clear and strong. The bills are paid, the family is happy and healthy and my life is full and content. I have people in my life who care about me and about whom I care. And for all this I thank God. I'm not an outwardly religious man, but I have core beliefs that see me through whatever trials and travails life presents me with. One of those beliefs is that if we listen to ourselves ( which in my mind means we listen to God speakin through us) we find that which brings us peace and harmony with the world. Somewhere about 40 years ago I found motorcycles. I thank God for that too. ...

For about a year now, since knee starting going bad, I have enjoyed restoring old cars. Presently have two main projects going, a 69 camaro, and 66 Chevy truck ( which is my son's). Soon to acquire a 68 Chevelle SS which I will start on next year. My shop is full. But I enjoy it, is a great stress relief from the job. I done get in a big hurry. Turn on the tunes and I am OK.
I do enjoy riding, and have done a little, but until my medical problems are corrected, I done feel real stable on a bike just yet.

djkak,
WOW ! Those pics are off the charts Dude.

The old adage about a picture being worth a thousand words sure applies to the pics you've posted here.

[smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]  There are no pictures that I am aware of of my folks and us kids growing up in the praries.  My Dad was a hunter of necessity to feed parents and four kids.  He taught himself through other's stories how to tan hides and he sold many for years and years for annual winter income.  We all had ski-doo suits and boots, we had fur trimmings around the hoods of our suits, beaver skinned mitts with beaver felt tops that were lined with wool mitts our Grandma knit us.  We had felt liners in our boots that we took in each day to dry over the heater vents.  I can't remember all the local remedies, but we kept warm with natures best back then.  We rode our ski-doos without helmuts or heated assistance and we worked the trap lines and had fun.  Kinda reminded me of the pictures here, less the mountains in the distance.  Thanks for sharing.    ;)

djkak,
Your pictures were breath taking. Even though I don't like cold and snow (probably has something to do w/arthritis) I can definitely appreciate the beauty in those pictures. I especially like the one I've quoted you from and will be adding that to my collection. Thanks.
