CVO beds
« on: November 13, 2006, 07:14:42 PM »

Wifey is dragging me around looking for a new bed, I sleep on the couch most nites as the one we have is too hard and hurts my back, she also has had enough of this thing. We looked at and I just about fell asleep on a Sleep Number bed. And obviously I like the most expensive one, I also like the motorized box spring that sits you up like in a hospital bed or raises your feet or both, perfect for watching TV for another $1700, making the total now over $5k easy plus tax./, well, Im thinking as I lay there, $5k will buy a lot of chrome and accesories, and I make that comment to Laurie, I also tell her in front of the saleman that for $5k, Id expect an occasional BJ from that expensive of a bed....then the saleman hits a button on the remote (Thats Right!! A remote control) and the things start vibrating, and massaging...and also has a wave effect..........maybe not a BJ...but close enough, so we are going to purchase this tommorrow...unless any of you can tell me of one better.  opinions on anything better (and less expensive) most appreciated.

Mike, I'm in the market for a new bed also. That sleep number bed sounds good. Are you saying it's 3400.00 with out the lift features?

Yes, $3400 for the queen size, king is a lot more, Thank God I married a pack rat who has left only room for a Queen. This one also has Life-time ,memory foam replacement (Im assumming for fat guys like me)...you just unzip it and replace. $1700 for the motorized boxspring. CVO all the way baby. It comes with a 20 year guarantee on the bed, which is basicially like an inflatable raft, the 20 year guarantee The salesman said, does NOT cover possible attempted homocide where the wife misses with a butcher knife or any other sharp object. LOL, I really hate this saleman now, why give anyone any ideas???.

Everything has its own kind of perspective to make it look better or worse.  If that's right it's $3400 for a bed for the entire body, for two people, every night, and it even has those special extra benefits Mike described above.  Compare that against close to 1/3rd of that same cost many have spent for a Corbin saddle with backrests or other accessories and it's only good for just an ass for a few hours at a time and not even every day

Yes I know that. I already bought the Corbin. I was rear eneded in my work truck the first of October so I need a new bed. The one we have was a foam with the 10 or 15 year warranty but it's shot. It's no fun waking-up tired. :(
We have been holding out hoping to sell the house and move before we buy but it might be time.

Hmmm, Corbin huh?, imagine sending this bed to them, getting the ostich skinned....umm, nevermind.... See above 'kinfe or sharp object' post....why push my luck.

Yes Credit isn't a problem. I just didn't want to have to move anything from Florida to Georgia unless absolutely necessary.
A new bed does sound good though. They have one of these stores at the mall so may have to check it out.

Andy, most generous offer bro, Laurie's sister has one of those beds, she didnt like it when she stayed there a couple months ago. So that eliminated one of them. I tried those at the store on the salemans recommendation, and I liked it, but alas, Laurie thinks we are buying the bed for only her, I gotta let her have SOMETHING in 21 years of marriage I guess.

Just my two cents on the bed subject.  We got a great new bed (6 speed/HID light/bluetooth value) and had the option of memory foam or not for the pillow top.

I sleep relatively warm and the foam is a killer.  It really holds body heat.  If you sleep hot/cold this would be the determining factor to me on whether or not to get it.

Bought a Sterns and Foster Silver Cloud California King last December. Cost as much as an 883 Sportster, but I sleep like a baby. Sleep Train ( Mattress chain in Cal) gave me a set of 600 TC sheets and got me on that tune. Now I drive my wife nuts buying 800 and 1,000TC Egyptian cotton sheets whenever they have a sale on ShopNBC or QVC. So Mike, your next step is the high TC sheets, gotta have at least 600 TC 800 is better and 1,000 - - - - - man you'll think you're sleepin on satin.

Anyway, never thought of calling it a CVO bed but that's the perfect name for it. Thanks for the laugh.

I can't believe what we do for friends: This is the second bed I got. The first one was way too hard. So after a few weeks I called the owner of the store and he said this is the best mattress for support. Price was right at about $1600. AJ

Man oh man, Mike is lucky this thread lasted as long as it did.  Start a thread about beds and in the first post have blow job references.....  It should have gone straight down the dumper with this crowd in 4 posts or less.   :-?

Andy, most generous offer bro, Laurie's sister has one of those beds, she didnt like it when she stayed there a couple months ago. So that eliminated one of them. I tried those at the store on the salemans recommendation, and I liked it, but alas, Laurie thinks we are buying the bed for only her, I gotta let her have SOMETHING in 21 years of marriage I guess.

OK, back on topic, done deal on the bed, will be here Wednesday, went to Sleep train, and the sales guy was awesome, got the top of the line Sleep Number 9000 with the adjustable head and foot controls/massaging/waveing/BJ-ing base. And got it for even less than the 7000 model that we saw at Mattress Discountors, almost 700 less ...and no tax, plus a free set of 600TC sheets/pillow cases, and a free $200 new space age water proof bed protector cover that goes under the sheets, for when I get old and wet the bed, (Need one of these as a bike protector in the rain). I know, I said Frre as I spend close to $5k, but he threw them in after I signed the papers, he didnt have too, so I have to call these free.

Ya know it was good to see TwoAngle Don, get blamed I surely thought that Dood was going to blame me for pickin on him.   Then again he cant remember who I am at times, so I guess while readingthat  i was just feeling guilty cause the shrinking post had  please hurt me written all over it.

Mikey please send pictures of the bed in the 3 most compromising positions you feel are available and then please 3 of the most comfortable positions for watching the games.    I feel there is some intrinsic value in seeing the posititive sides of the bed as well as the horn dog side as well ....   My wife hates our bed and the other super expensive Sealy it replaced, so its about time to pony up for something she chooses and I am trying to give her options ...  West Coast Harley trip or you can get a new bed .... LoL thus far I think the trip is winning.

;)  Re the bed thing, we bought a few years ago the Tempur-Pedic Mattresses, at the Heathy Back Store.  You can get the ones that each sleeper can choose their own positions - flat for sleeping, tilted up like a hospital bed for what ever you like to do sitting up.  Found that with the high thread count egyption mattress pad and sheets, it was not as hot as sleeping directly on the foam that Roger spoke of, and it is so comfortable.  When we bought it, we had gone through the gambit of every mattress claiming they were the best and were replacing them twice a year.  That got very expensive.  We had not heard of the sleep number bed at that time.  Know folks who have it, and they love it.

Trying to save a few bucks a few years ago, I bought a Nautalis Sleep System bed. What a POS! They are most likely long out of business but if not, don't make the mistake I made. It is in a guest bedroom in our basement and whenever wifey gets pissed at me (quite often) I head to the basement where me and my labs have to sleep on that POS. When I wake up in the morning the dogs on usually on the floor because they can't stand it either. :'( :'(

Hey, it reminds me of the original seat on my SEEG.

Bed arrives today, but now Im thinking, 'did i make a mistake?' my son wanted our old bed, so we threw his bed (,mattress only) on the frontroom floor, put our bed in his room, and order to steam clean the carpets etc. in our room. So Laurie and I slept on his cheap old twin sized mattress , it was the best nights sleep I think Ive had in 2 years at home, Laurie is still asleep so I think she is likeing it too. oh well, we got 90 days to return the new one if we are not happy, Ill throw this old thing that I was going to have them haul away, into the shed just in case..,......

Sounds like you had a great night's sleep because you had a very firm base to sleep on.  If the sleep number bed works the way I understand it to work, you should be able to set your bed to very firm and get same result.

After playing with remote for a awhile (My golden Retriever loves the massage feature, she puts all four paws up in the air like she is rode kill and a big grin on her face) All I can say, this bed coupled with the new 800TC sheets, is just so amazing, let me put it this way, I fell asleep 5 minutes into a brand new episode of South Park ( I dont miss South park ever). Didnt wake up untill the alarm went off @ 6:00 (A first) I usually wake up at 2 or 3 and then again @5 and either go out onto the couch or am already on the couch to begin with. So I slept 8 str8 hours. Laurie feel asleep before me and is still asleep, of course she was tired to begin with from all the yelling about the Dog being on the new bed....hehehe.

The Remote has buttons for both leg massage and Back massage, so the dog can get a massage without bothering the master. And she will let you know as soon as you turn it off that she wants it back on, lol she also perfers the 'wave' action leg massage setting....ummm, I wonder which one of us is really the master here?....
