« on: December 13, 2013, 07:03:22 PM »

so I pulled the trigger and am doing Tmans CVO street performer kit with his 625 cams (heads ,10.8 pistons &port matching the intake ) and some s&s lifters. was just wondering if any one here has run this cam and what I can expect

Totally different bike and engine, but....

I'm running a 625 in my Night Train's 103.  T-Man Stage II heads, 55mm TB, 5.3 injectors, IIRC the compression is 10.8:1.  With a D&D Lowcat and a quiet baffle, it's making 116/116.  Chart's attached.  The bike runs like a raped ape.  I've never wanted for more low-end torque, but it's a 22 pound lighter bike than a bagger with much less wind resistance.  It flat-out screams above 3000rpm.  The valve train's not loud, and it's been dead-nuts reliable.

running them in a 107" 13 SG  runs real nice. 113hp  119 tq. you can keep up with traffic T Man build   touring elite  hpi tb 59mm. it rips and  motor is very quiet.  T man has some great builds and he is not a  BS er.

Using TR-625 in my SESG 110.  Made 126 tq / 120 hp.  Quiet cam that delivers.

Jim  Thats a very nice 113in!  What compression you running?

Thanks, if I recall correctly compression was set at 10.3 static, and 9.4 corrected, about 195 lbs ccp. Heads were stock 110's with a bunch of work by Hannan's Machine shop.
We've done similar builds in 110's with the 625's that were in the 125, 125 range

Looking for a bit more out of mine, have ported heads, 259e's etc. Scott at hillside has mentioned this as a potential cam for what I'm after.
How's the ride-ability? The charts I've seen show it making tq earlier than my current setup, do the 625's pull through the upper rpm?
Don't ride there constantly, but probably more often than the average bagger rider lol..

If you want big early torque and less fun or smooth to ride the 625 or several woods grinds are the hawt ticket  :2vrolijk_21:

Not sure if this is an endorsement or not?  :nixweiss:

My TR-625 was been a very smooth / fun ride.  I have taking her on a number of trips with no issues.  Many time I have been surprised to see how fast I'm going as the power is very steady under normal (Whatever that may be) riding.  I'm certain Jim feels the same about his build.  I had a buddy with an 09 SERG with the TR 625.  Another very smooth ride.  As for valve train related noise....quieter than when she was stock.   Just my own experiences, FWIW.

Thanks! The 625 is a great cam, I have done a few other 110's with it for members here and they are all very pleased. They delivery smooth power everywhere without a lot of valve train noise. Just finished up a 103" 13' dyna with the 625 today. Heat cycles then some break in miles then off to the dyno. We also have another 113" project in house that I am using it in. This one will be done after the 1st of the year.

It was not an endorsement,if you are happy with the cam and how the combo worked out all well and good

That's a pretty strong combo by the looks of it. Might have to move these up near the top of the list.. Thanks for posting!
