Wouldn't it be nice? 125/125 Hp & Tq. 110
« on: January 03, 2014, 01:19:01 PM »

I bought my first CVO in 2000. I have owned 6 more to this point up to and including current one. I have been fortunate enough to be able to pay for my motor work along the way. I have been a member here for sometime. I have spent countless hours looking at dyno sheets and everyones opinion. I am aware there are 6-8 really good shop owners on this site who cotribute regularly. How about you guys make it easy on us poor slobs? I want to have my motor built to 125hp/125tq. I know it will require pipes, heads, cams, tuner, and probably fi and piston work. (Plus bucket full of cash) If it sounds like I'm taking the easy way out. That's exactly what I'm trying to do. Hope you guys can help. If you don't want to divulge your secrets of course that will be understood. I am running decatted pipe with Fullsac 2' baffles. Would like to keep stock look. If DX pipe is required that would be cool too.

Thanks;
Rick

I'm not a builder but, if I had a black motor, I'd be looking hard at the S&S 124LC. A very cost effective alternative with a 1 year warranty.

No replacement for displacement. 120R with crank work.

Rick it is easy and not that costly.
Harleys 10.5 pistons, SE259 cam, Head Work, V&H power duals, Wild Things Crusher mufflers, HPI TB and injectors, SE tapered adjustables, aftermarket lifters.
Bottom end: Crank work, true and weld only.
You will end up in the power level you described and have a 110 that is reliable without the typical maladies
If interested I can help you with specifics if you give me a call.

Here's one path that worked for my 2010 SEUC to get the #s you're seeking. Its straight forward.
- Call Scott at Hillside Cycle http://www.hillsidecycle.com/ to discuss headwork (I'm sure there are other good shops but my experience was with Scott)
- Upgrade valves and springs - my preference was Woods to accompany the cam below
- Woods 408-6 cam  http://www.woodcarbs.com/cams.htm
- Upgrade the stock throttlebody to SE 58mm page 19 http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/f935f2bd#/f935f2bd/20
- Upgrade injectors to SE 5.3 gm/sec  page 22 http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/f935f2bd#/f935f2bd/20
- Upgrade to roller rockers page 67 http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/f935f2bd#/f935f2bd/20
- Adjustable pushrods page 68 http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/f935f2bd#/f935f2bd/20
- Tuner - my preference is Powervision  http://www.fuelmotousa.com/power-vision.html
- Upgrade exhaust to proven 2:1 exhaust - my preference is D&D Fatcat  http://www.danddexhaust.com/content/2009-harley-touring-boss-fat-cat-21-full-system

There's other ways to get to 125/125. None of them are cheap. My path was successful with lots of hard running. 40,000 proven miles both solo and 2up. Stock pistons and stock crank.

Good luck!

I love Doc's dyno sheet it starts out under 2000 rpm and the main line goes up in small rpms. It makes it easier for me to read. Just saying.
Thank You Doc
