I must have lived under a rock all my life, or at least for the past 10 years or so.

Out of all the bands/singers listed, the ONLY name I recognize is David Allan Coe.

Or I'm just not into the Southern Rock genre I guess.

You are not wrong. Coe has been around forever. A weak lineup as far as any "A" list bands.  Or "B" list bands for that matter.  Some might be ok, some might be great, some undoubtedly suck - never heard of them either.

Went to Columbia MO a few years back to their annual blues and BBQ festival.  We'd heard of a few of the people, but it was just a fun outing.

We saw a guy by the name of Mike Zito and he blew us away.  Then we say a young blonde from eastern Europe by the name of Anna Popovic.  Not only was she a knock great looking young lady, she played a very mean guitar, blues, rock, mellow, she did it all.  Mike Zito was very good on the guitar as well.

So you never know what you may run into at places like this if you don't listen to them play.

True.  I wandered into a bar a long time back in Austin and saw a couple of brothers playing in a band.  Jimmy & Stevie Ray Vaughan.  Truthfully, they were ok but not that great at the time.  Later on when they each went their own way.....amazing.
