I'm not gonna spend over $100 bucks for HD-48219 orimary locking tool.  I've read to only use a bar locking tool, but there are different length tools.
So which after market tool will work?

So which after market tool will work?

Any 1/4x1 1/2" steel flat bar will work cut to length. Measure at an angle between the sprockets on the teeth that give the effect of locking. Cut and file sharp edges off at the cut. Might cost $5 bucks, tops. $100, damn, talk about getting bent over.

The locking tool I use (purchased from Georges Garage) is 3/8" thick, 1" wide and 5 5/8" long.  Both ends that engage the teeth are rounded/chamfered to simulate the shape of the teeth they are engaging.
