The one place off limits in our house is the bed - For the longest time pups weren't even in the bedroom. It is hard enough keeping dog hair off a dark uniform without having them spreading the fur all over the bedroom.

But - when I retire - all bets are off  :orange:

While the Greyhounds aren't entirely shed free there is a huge difference between them and your beauts Duane.  I just put up with the little shedding these guys will do though.  Pretty much always have.  It's a small price.  All at once in the bed was a new thing though.  There is a big bed pillow on the bedroom floor that someone usually ends up on.  Who knows what was going on last night?  I was asleep...

You are soooo incredibly right.  Greyhounds are not outside dogs.  And they will let you know it.  For a little while, when the weather is too they're liking, and they have a mind to, the outdoors is a wonderful place.  But the inside with its soft surfaces and ready food and water is a muuuuch more wonderful place.

It would be so nice, however, if they could chase siblings (I've only got one).  When they do chase and catch so are soooooo good about bring the capture right to the door and be so proud of what they've done.  I can close my eyes and imagine the sibling, drunkenly grinning and hanging there in the big dog's jaws, just waiting to be dropped indoors.  I'd toss her back outside and tell the dog to go play the game again!

I thought you would like the idea.

We have 5 dogs but all pretty small. King size bed, 5 dogs, wife and I hang onto the very edges not to fall out while they all live like kings and queens. They all have hair rather than fur so it's not too bad. 4 out of 5 rescues.

Not our pup, but one of our good friend's fur babies. Last year "Sue" was losing one of her cherished pups to cancer and asked if I could try and get some shots for her for a keepsake. Out of 50 or so this was an all around favorite.

It was chosen for publication in the Golden Retriever magazine, which was put out just in time for the now running 2014 GRCA National Specialty in Asheville, NC.

Below is a picture someone took of the mag and sent to us.

"Shilah" passed away less then a month after this shot.

We took our Yellow Lab "Jade" in for ACL surgery on Friday. She did the damage jumping out of my truck one day.
We have made her a pen in the corner of the garage, and of course Kathy has set up our bedroom for the next 12 weeks in the garage with Jade.

Remember my adopted, paralyzed 3 yr dog that I adopted in March, 2014?  I'm posting this long overdue update on her.  She received her Therapy Dog Certification in July and she takes her Mission of visiting our Veterans at hospitals, Clinics, and attends VA Events.  She has brought many smiles to those service members suffering from PTSD, physical disabilities and emotional problems.  She still remains the only Certified dog that works primarily with our Veterans.

This past Saturday she was recognized at the New Mexico State University football game on the field.  She wheeled herself out on the field with me holding her leash and the announcer gave a brief speech recognizing her achievements and service to our Veterans.  She received a standing ovation.  I couldn't have been more proud of her!

Her second Mission that is close to her heart is accepting donations through a website she created called  http://www.mangosfreedomwheels.com where we screen and qualify other dogs and cats that need assistance with a Wheelcart due to paralyzes, loss of legs, or from injuries.  All
recipients receive a wheelcart custom made for them from our Angel donors and ruff Rollin Wheelcarts from Montana.  Please check out her web page!

It was so awesome to see the video of you and Mango going out on that football field, she was a little trooper...You and Mango are doing so much to help others, not only the Veterans, but other paralyzed dogs and cats that are in need of a wheel cart, Great job Judy.

I have kind of a like - hate feelings of the not quite ready for prime time firestone air ride suspension on my truck.

F-350 dually, towing a 17-18K Toy hauler. This is the second time my suspension failed on a camping trip.
Was on a really bad stretch of Rt 81 near Scranton and it was pouring. Temp repair to get my air ride hitch at least working.

An F-350 with no rear suspension rides really bad. So bad, one of my one pups lips start flopping around  :huepfenjump3:

Today is my baby's 10th Birthday
 :2vrolijk_06:

9 years and 1 month ago she was destined to euthanasia.
We were the last "try" the local shelter did.

They called us (knowing we did Golden Rescue work) and asked if we could just give a try and see what is up with this wild rambunctious pup.
"No commitment, just try"

At the time she was only 11 months old and had been in 5 homes already!
Such a problem child that the local Animal Control officer pulled her from the shelter to give her one last try at her home.
She was the one that called us.

I've had dogs, cats etc my whole life and have never had one so attached to me as this one.

We tell all the newcomers to the Golden world (all large dogs included) that every day past 10 is a blessing. So starting tomorrow she gets an extra hug every day.
