Diva, are they a breed that is instinctively going to not mind the snow or want to get out in it a bit?  Or are they a "what is this chit" variety?

Don...as soon as the deck got enough on it for them to wrestle in it a bit, they were soaked.  The breed has a hard outer coat where it's black, with some feathering on the legs, around the neck, top of the head.  Not a true double coat, but very thick and hard to penetrate.  They were bred to keep rats and snakes killed, so the coat served a function...they have the teeth of a dog twice their size...powerful little dogs in a 15-18 lb package...feel like little concrete blocks.  We have to get them the "agressive chewer" toys, as they kill the normal ones quickly.  Very sweet to people though, unlike some of the Terriers, who are wary or one person dogs.  These guys love everybody, but ready to scrap with another dog if it acts dominant...they have no idea how small they are...

From the pictures here and your prior descriptions not at all surprised by that combination.  That's got to make them a lot of fun while they're still in puppy mode.  Having the two together will obviously keep them playful longer than they'd be as singletons.  But at what general age does this breed normally "grow up" and lose its puppy-ness?

At about 18mos they are cosidered "grown", or a better word might be "mature".  They won't get much bigger in size than they are now, but all of their coat will not come in until about 18mos.  At now 7 months, they are WFO when they are awake...you'd think they were killing each other they play so hard.  Been a couple of "puppy fights"...but when push comes to shove, Rider's size and muscle mass will get the best of Tango, but otherwise, he lets her pester the chit out of him.  He's about 2 lbs heavier, and that ratio will remain about the same.  He'll end up at about 18-19, and her, about 15-16.  They feel much heavier when they hit your chest or shoulder sitting on the couch   :o

Rider is plastered up against my leg, with Tango laying curled up next to him as I type this.  It's early afternoon nap time... :)

Roger you come up with some good ones. ;D

Looks more like a spotted snow mole than a reindeer though.  :huepfenlol2:

Now there is a dog who loves snow. Those people have no need for snow shovels!

This is Fathead. He showed up a couple of months ago and I've been feeding him since then. He is there on the porch every morning when I go out and every night when I come home, if I'm not too late. We started calling Fathead cause of his big pumpkin head.

It took me a while to figure out why his front paws looked goofy, I had never seen this, but some friends say they have seen before. He has got 6 toes on each front paw, two dew claws on each paw. It makes his feet look like little clubs.

When we were in Key West last year we visited Earnest Hemingway's home.  A lot of the cats there have six toes.

The story goes that a sailor gave Hemingway a six toed cat (which are called Polydactyl) as a gift and the cats there today are descendants of that cat.  Sailors in those days liked to have six toed cats on their ship for two reasons.  One, they were considered good luck.  Two, the extra toes helped in catching rats and climbing the ships rigging.

Here's a link with more info on the Hemingway cats:
