Last evening was a sad night around here. When we all got home from the aquarium, our eldest cat, Cindy, who's 19 years old was really having a hard time. Her kidneys started giving her problems quite some time ago and things weren't getting any better for her.

We took her over to the emergency vets for some fluids to help out with her dehydration and it just wasn't going to work. We knew it was the right decision to make, so we decided to have her put down last night.

She was a great girl and I've had her since she was a kitten. She outlasted her brother by almost 8 years. Here are a few pictures of her posted earlier.

We love you Cindy, RIP. (July 1989 - August 17, 2008)

And modeling her summertime doo.

Really, really sorry to hear about this Chuck and Pinkie...it's hard to let them go, but you just have to focus on the great lives everyone had.  Always sad though.  You have our deepest condolences...

Very sorry guys.  Just because it's right doesn't mean it's easy.

Chuck, I'm sorry for your loss. Cindy was a cool cat that had her own office in the house. Sunday she was not looking the best and clearly not feeling well. Linda & I are sorry for your & Mahota's loss. RIP, Cindy.

Chuck,
Sorry to hear about your and Pinkie's loss.  I know how you feel bro.  We had to put one of our babies down for the same reason, and it's never easy.  I know Cindy had a good life because she had a great "mom and dad".  You'll always have her in your hearts, so she'll never totally be gone.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Chuck. She looks like a hell of a cat and her living 19 years is a testament to how well she was taken care of.

She'll always be alive in your heart, memories, and stories.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow
                        Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to
someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are
meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they
can run and play together. There is plenty of food,
water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and
                        comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to
health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made
whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our
dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy
and content, except for one small thing; they each miss
someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when
one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her
bright eyes are intent; Her eager body quivers. Suddenly
she begins to run from the group, flying over the green
grass, her legs carrying her faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special
friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous
reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain
upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved
head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of
your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent
                        from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Chuck and Pinkie, I'm So Sorry About the Loss of Your Beloved Cindy.

Thanks so much for everyone's thoughts and well wishes. We do miss her but know she's better off now and no longer suffering.
