the wireless is terrible for uploads-----

Had to laugh at that post and the pic.  Wireless heck, you are looking at complete digital disconnect....ain't it great... :2vrolijk_21:

Enjoying the pictures of that beautiful BC country.  Brings back memories of the trip in '95.  Some great carvings and how in the world do you do that with a chainsaw?  Thanks for taking us with you on this trip.... ;D

When you see these skid marks--life gets exciting.  Your seat leaves the saddle---you don't know if it's going to be only fart high or flying.  And you really don't want your feet on the highway pegs---WOW.

The big dips are called frost heave's and they can be pretty big, like you have probably already experienced.   They have been responsible for throwing an unsuspecting rider right off the bike.  I remember the seeing the majority of them between Haines Junction and Northway Alaska.  That is also the worst stretch of road.

Sounds like he might need a seat belt.

Q:  What is the USA's number one export to China?
A:  Trash!  They loved our high quality trash. (not any longer).

Day 5----No wireless here at the Lodge, they are off the grid, so posted the next day. Got up, raining. Packed in the rain.  Rode 6 hrs in the rain.  I hate the work that rain creates.  Glad I had my FXRG leather coat and Gerbings.  Dry and warm. The clouds parted and started clearing as I left Fort Nelson at 1:00. As far as I’m concerned, this is the start of the Alaska Highway.  It is beautiful.  Lots of gentle twisties along lakes, rivers and mountains.  Something different around each bend.  This is also where I started to see “stuff”.  Lots of bear, moose, goats, deer, buffalo.  The moose and bear didn’t like my Fullsacs.  They scampered to the woods before I could get some good pictures.
Staying at Northern Rockies Lodge on Mucho Lake---gorgeous!  Laird Hotsprings is 35 mi. up the road from here.  My toughest decision today was whether to check in, unpack and drive up there this evening for a dip or wait and stop on my way past in the morning.  I couldn’t decide, so I’ll do both. It was really relaxing after a long cold day in the rain.
I’m really having a hard time with the high sun and the two hr time difference. I usually get up at 5 am, which is 3 am here. And it’s still dark, also the gas stations aren’t open that early even if I ride a couple of hours before I need gas.  So I lay in bed, waiting.
