Got to take a free ferry---I found this route on www.advrider.com (pretty neat site)--so I'd thought I take it and WOW was it great--the highway ends and you get on a ferry, a trucker I talked with said it would take 10 large semi's or 80 cars--I was hoping I would get on, and turned out they were only 3/4 full---they run on the hour from one side and the half hour on the other, 15 min ride and 15 to load/unload.

The ferry is about 30 miles S of Revelsoke BC on Hwy 23.  Which is just East of Kamloops.  The route the guy had was: from Revelstoke, South on 23--ferry--cont S on 23--then 6 to Nelson. I stayed on 6 South to #3. If you do that, you go over a 6000 ft pass. Most trucks take 3A from Nelson to Creston, with another free ferry just N of Nelson across the Kootenay Lake. This way they avoid a big up and down hill.  I swear I was going downhill for 30 miles. Plus I didn't want to wait for another ferry.
