Anybody notice the connection to the title of this weeks episode "Papa's Goods"?

It was the name on the side of the (tractor) trailer that hit Jax. My guess is Sutter intended it to have multiple meanings/significance.

Watch even closer and you'll see the right lever (front brake on our bikes) is missing in some of the footage of him riding bike... on some... off some.

I noticed that as well.. actually had to rewind it to make sure

Ya gotta quit watching it so late half asleep, all of the episode names had at least one meaning  :drink:

One of the things I liked about the show in the last several years was that they were mostly more then a single hour time slot. Every episode gave us at least an hour of content, good or bad.

Anyone catch Sutter's tirade on the early book release?

http://deadline.com/2014/12/sons-of-anarchy-series-finale-leak-spoilers-book-kurt-sutter-apology-1201311122/

‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Finale Leak: Kurt Sutter Apologizes Over “Worst Nightmare”
After seven hard livin’ and bloody seasons, Sons Of Anarchy is set to take its final ride on December 9 with its series finale. With all the guessing as to what the fate of Jax Teller, SAMCRO and everyone else in the world of Charming, CA will be, looks like a select few already have the details. Seems The Sons Of Anarchy: The Official Collector’s Edition book was soa book sent out early to some booksellers and customers. With a list of all the characters who died in each season, including the current Season 7, the Tara Bennett written book was not supposed to be available until the day after the finale on FX. With a dedicated fan base like SOA has, it’s hard to tell if the leak will keep people from watching next Tuesday night.

Regardless, needless to say, SOA creator Kurt Sutter wasn’t pleased with the situation. However, he was also a stand up guy about the pre-shipping and wasn’t pointing fingers at anyone but himself for the SNAFU. Today Sutter issued an fan apology for the leak and spoiler via Twitter. He also asked those who got copies of the Collector’s Edition to “not share your wrath or pain or opinion in social media so as to not spoil the experience of others.”

Read Sutter’s full note here:

It has been brought to my attention that our SOA Collector’s Edition book has been sent out a week early by some distributors and book outlets. This book contains details about the final How Violent Is Too Violent For Kurt Sutter?episode of the series. This, my friends is a storyteller’s worst nightmare. I wanted this book to be a complement to the show. It contains personal messages and photos from the cast, in-depth behind the scenes information and detailed breakdown of episodes. It’s a smart, well-conceived book that I was very excited for the fans to have. AFTER the motherf$%*ing finale. There are a thousand f$%*ing people I can blame. And I assure you, by the time I am done, my f$%*ing basket will be filled with heads of incompetent c***s. But as far as the fans go, the burden is on me. I f$%*ed up. It was my idea for the book, so ultimately, I am to blame. So if you received a book, I apologize. I ask that you not share your wrath or pain or opinion in social media so as to not spoil the experience of others. There is no excuse for utter ineptitude. It pains me that this will be the parting memory of some fans. I hope you all tune in for the finale. It plays much better than it reads.
Sincerely

Hey Duane, he had another comment about it in the Afterword when he introduced the 1-6 season box set.  He showed the box and made the comment that the box set came out on time, not a week early.  He was obviously still disturbed by the book's early release.  I believe I would'a been mad, too.

Will miss the show but the timing of the ending and how it ended was much better than some show endings I've seen.  Wish I could have attended the final show party in Florida with Tig and Juice....looks like that one was a blast.

Best series ender (IMO) was the Newhart show when Bob awoke from the dream about owning the B&B but he was in his other show (actually the Bob Newhart Show) in bed with his TV wife Suzanne Pleshette.....priceless and funny as heck.  Of course the Goodbye spelled out in rocks at the end of MASH was pretty good, too.

Yeah, I saw that, didn't get the connection he was trying to make though since the box set was 1-6 and 7 was a download, which could be controlled. Must have been the berry juice he was drinking.
I've seen a lot of interviews with him, and the last was hard to watch with him stumbling and tripping over his thoughts and words.
He was on the media sites a week ago begging those that got the book to keep the contents to themselves  :huepfenjump3:

Yeah, of the wrap ups that looked like it would be the best.

Waiting to hear the final body count for the 7 seasons.
Wondering which will be higher. SoA, 24, Homeland etc. Although I think they will all be 2nd to Game of Thrones  :2vrolijk_21:

as Sutter's friend Billy Shakespeare would say "Much Ado over nothing".  Everybody still watched to see HOW Jax punched out.

Yep saw the "Papa's Goods" vegetables sign, another Sutterism..........didn't make much of it.

Everytime I see Sutter I think of a thirteen year old trying to be cool, the hair, the tats, tough guy talk. I wonder if he has ever done time, or even thrown a leg over a saddle. He giggles to himself, looks like a nerd locked in a room full of porno books.

According to the common bio's he was a Jersey kid close to Rahway who spent a LOT of time parked in front of the TV and not a lot outside with actual people.  Eventually got a BA from Rutgers in film and the rest is history.  He did write for "The Shield" for most or all of its run so that's from where we got Chiklis at the end driving the truck.

H'mmm, grew up only a few miles from there and never heard of him until SoA. I'm sure I saw his name in the credits of The Shield, but only Shawn Ryan rings any bells.
And now thanks to Don I had to take a look and found this

22:20, one of Sutter's few cameos. He is supposed to be the thug.

I have one major observation in the first hour I've seen so far.  The Knucklehead is a suicide shift (for those that don't know this, the clutch is left foot, shift is on the right side tank).  Notice the soundtrack as Jax is pulling away from the garage.  Shift occurred in the soundtrack but Charlie's hands never left the handlebars.....hmmmmmm

I did catch that and it annoyed me big time. I wanted to see if Jax could actually ride that bike proper. no where on that ole knuckle did jax shift.  I think the shifter on the knuckle is on the left side of the tank.   throttle right side hand grip, timing left hand grip, rear brake right foot, clutch left foot, front brake left hand,  no lever on right hand.

It was painfully obvious in the last closeups that the bike and rider were on a camera sled being towed for TV.  Lots of outtakes and other clips from prior shows that actually show them doing this.  Not a surprise at all. Was surprised, however, that this last supposedly penultimate scene made it so obvious and was so visually wrong.  Just wished they'd tried a little harder rather than just phoning it in at the end.

I had given up on the show last year, but got sucked back in due to finale.  early on it was fun, but it got so ridiculous I could not watch.

I was hoping that after 7 years the actors would have honed their skills to the point that riding was a second nature. I really wanted to see that knuckle riden, it is not a bike many can just jump on and ride.  Just starting it can be a challenge for a neophyte.

PS,     suicide shifters can be on either side but makes the most sense on the left if throttle is on the right. hard to keep power up if your hand is shifting.
