Wanted to try and share a few pic from this area. Do to work restrictions they wouldn't let me ride so this travel has all been done by cage. Lot different area here than this Okie had anticipated, and a lot colder than my blood is used to...lol

I was in Wisconsin last weekend but didn't have time to visit door county. Next year. We stuck around the dells.

Not sure what's up with the pics...maybe an IPhone thing or very likely the operator of the phone, but can someone fix the pics before all the water runs out of the lake? Just wouldn't be the same without the water

I had never heard of Door County until a few weeks ago. We have some reps working in the plant I work in that are from the Green Bay Area and I was asking them about places to go as I had time while I am working in GB. Door County was at the top of all their list right behind Lambeau Field.

Jesse, if you get the chance to get back to that area I would strongly recommend working your way to Door County. Even by cage it has convinced me I have to come back

Oh I'll be back. I can be in Wisconsin on the bike in 3.5 hours. We will be doing a lake Michigan ride soon. Door county and up through the upper Michigan Peninsula.

Being able to be here that easily would really make it a to do trip. It's like 14 hrs to here for my by cage. I say that with a smile because I had the wife with me driving up and so it became more like a 30 hr trip. Running along I-35 she see a highway sign that says "Bridges of Madison County" so we spent a day looking at covered bridges. I was good with that.... I had never seen a covered bridge before, for her it was the movie and the bridges. Then add the time in Milwaukee...lol. Her and I have never been able to travel from point A to Point B. It's truly about the trip and not the destination when we travel

Haha I live in Iowa so I know all about those bridges. There's actually a lot of good riding within 200 miles of me.

Actually we did and loved it! Had this trip been planned out... Or should I say planned at all we would have done the Steel Toe Tour at the engine plant but by the time I found out that the company was sending me up there was only one spot left open, and I wouldn't do it without my wife. That's a good thing though, gives us a good reason to come back

From what we saw I could see a lot of good riding through that area. This is my first time north and it has really changed my idea of what I thought Iowa and Wisconsin looks like. Wife and I was thinking next summer when the temp hits 102 in OK, it might be time to burn a weeks vacation and head back this way with our preferred form if transportation....2 wheels

Not sure about all the other counties in WI however I've made several trips over the last few months up to the Sheboygan area when my girlfriend relocated for a new job. The lake up there is gorgeous, with cool breezes coming off the water. Extremely friendly people up there.

I rode up to this area about three years ago remembering the area from before seeing it in a cage...make sure you eat at the restaurant with the goats on the roof...also make sure you take the ferry ride and drive your bike on the island...not many choices in roads bust the scenery and history of mining especially looking at the technology back then is amazing..

Also...check out the wires run to the island that powers the entire island (what a trip)

I have another week in this area before I go back home so another trip to that area may be in order depending on how this project works out over the next few days
