Has anyone else had the weather seals curl up on the lip of the saddlebags and also have the leather covering adhesive just starting to give out?  and what have you done to prevent it or repair it?

Haven't had any issues with mine yet but I only have mine on the bike when I travel for an extended period of time so they do not get a lot of use. But it is very apparent that they have issues. You would think that paying 30K for a American made Harley would get you a little better craftsmanship.

Yep....mind does the same thing.  Used spray silicone on a rag and lubed the heck out of the weather stripping  and the leather that contacts the weather strip.  Seemed to solve the problem, lot smoother opening and closing.

Yep, deal stood behind my 2012 and replaced the stripping and cleaned up the glue.

Dealer replaced the seals on my 11 once, and on my 2012 twice.  Now it will be on me.  I believe I will look for some material that is more durable than what it comes with.  Yes, for 30K, one would think all sorts of things would have been better but not!

Once again if you I keep them lubed with silicone it really helps.  I spray a rag with silicone and wipe the foam and the leather surface about every 90 days or sooner if weather is bad and cant ride.  Bike is a 12 and I use the bags a lot, no issues at all.  I also clean the bags with Lexol and use the Lexol conditioner frequently.  This bike takes a little more TLC than my previous Ultra.

I went to Pep Boys and they make a weather stripping for pickup caps.  I trimmed it to fit with scissors and bought the glue to make a great repair.  Problem solved.  18K miles and is still holding up.
AutoZone has the same weather stripping.
