My wife and I have kids. I'm siding with Ken here.  I'm not leaving squat.  They need to earn their own way.

We aren't sure why we own a home.  We think we'd love retiring and selling the house and living in a motor home!

LOL! My wife would LOVE to sell the Badger Den and live in a little place that she doesn't have to spend so much time keeping CLEAN. She would actually even like to SELL everything and go live on a sailboat in the Caribbean!

I'm not quite ready for that yet, tho...  :o

Even with crude below $90 a barrel you have to win the lottery just to pay for the fuel! Another area we are all getting screwed.

I've seen pictures of those but don't know enough about them to know what the trade-off would be to have them. :nixweiss:

My friend has a 45 footer on his way home from Colorado dropped a valve. Close to the cost of a new CVO to replace. This is his 3rd coach in 10 years.  I have watched him lose close to $600,000.00 trading every three years.  He is in deep on this one close to 1,000,000.00. When he trades this one I'll bet he doubles his losses.  Me I can't see it, tried it upkeep on coach was way more than we  ever anticipated.  JMO.

His coach has over 500 HP two bathrooms 4 slide outs and a hell of a lot of marble and granite. I love driving it because people that pass you stare to see if its someone famous. Not.  I'm telling you they are like owning something from MoCo. They can eat a hole in your savings fast when they breakdown.  I forgot to mention he tows a 2014 black F150  Platinum when he travels. If he wants to take his bike and others he pulls a 26 foot color matched trailer with a 6 foot extended tongue. He can back it up between two other coaches traile and all using his mrrrs. The guy can drive that's for sure. Most people are in awe to see him maneuver it around.

Me I'll stick to having friends with them. Cannot afford the upkeep.

I retired last year at 48.  Everyone thinks we are crazy and going to go back to work just to have something to do, NOT.  Retirement is GREAT!  We logged around 25,000 miles this year and in Michigan, we only had about a 3 1/2 month riding season!

I say, retire young while you still have your health!

Hey that's great but most of us can't retire at 48 or even 58. Enjoy.

I'm aiming for 60 - only 9 years 4 months to go  ::)
I'm going to refer to it as "retirement" as I plan to be done working as hard or as much as I feel I do now, especially working out in the weather all the dang time (I work for a utility and northeastern winters really are no fun) but I'll probably still work -- part time --- just to keep myself from going crazy. Our financial adviser says we're on track and I would hope so....
