Need new rear Dunlop D407

Is the D407 still made?  If not, what’s the best Dunlop replacement tire?

Donlop American elite was on it, and what I put back on, they don't cup near like the Junk that comes on the bike.  Wear is slightly better, cost is a lot less.

13K miles on the tire.  That was at 40psi, going up to 42 they say it will help tread life.

Last 2k miles tread went very fast.  Was not even at wear bars then, looked like 3000 to 3500 miles left in it, boy was I wrong.

I was averaging about 7500 miles on my OEM Dunlops, at 14500 miles (after 2 sets) I went to the Dunlop Elites on the advice of Terry at Beach Customs in Little River SC (Myrtle Beach).  Originally I thought 40lbs was too much, and after 5000 miles on them, they look and perform great.  I won't let them get to the point that Dave did, but 42 lbs seems like a lot?  It is a pretty stiff ride for me now, and soon will be looking at some suspension upgrades.

I would go with American Elite by Dunlop over the D407.  Cost less, better wear.

I just putt another D407 rear on my 2015 CVO Limited.

Last tire was 15,000+ miles - IMO, great tire wear life.

The first three tires were at 12,000, 12,000 and 11,000 Miles.

Four tires for 50,000 miles is GREAT...all D407

I like the D407 and all of mine have lasted 10,000+ miles pretty easily. Wet traction is good and I do a lot of riding in the rain. The down side is dealers absolutely rip you off on a D407. I am going with the Bridgestone Battlax for my next rear tire to replace my 85% worn D407. Tire is about $50 cheaper than a D407 delivered to my door. I understand this Bridgestone is a 8,000mi tire but I am willing to try it.

Got about 18,000 on my Commander 2 rear.  Starting  to cup a bit and about worn down.  Replacement will either be a Commander 3 or American Elite sometime in the next 2000 miles.

Got 18000 on my stock rear (2019 cvo Limited) and 19000 on the front, changed the front early due to some long rides coming up.
Went with AE as I usually get better mileage and they are quieter as they age.
