Cam part number question
« on: August 07, 2015, 07:41:43 PM »

I got my hands on a 103 off of a 2005 Electra glide. I want to build it and replace the 88 on my 2005 ultra classic. I took the heads off and sent them to bean at big boyz head porting. I talked to bean about my build and he suggested the Andrews 57 cam. So I'm trying to find them. I have the se billet cam plate kit. Can someone point me in the right direction. I found some but they won't work with my cam plate. Thanks

57N, Andrews P/N 216857.   This is what's called a conversion cam, with the inboard end sized to fit the 1999 - 2006 cases, and the outboard end made to fit the 2007 and later cam plates.  Click on the attached file for the full list of Andrews conversion cams.

Thanks for the reply I read the attachment and it says you can not use that cam with the hybrid cam plate 25284-11 I just happen to have a brand new for this motor. So my question is what cam would work with my cam plate that is similar to the Andrews 57 thanks

OK, I misunderstood your first post.  I thought you were talking about the billet cam plate for the '07 and later models.  The one you have just uses the standard cams that apply for all 1999-2006 Twin Cam engines.  That one is a TW57, P/N 288157.

You could return the cam plate kit and exchange it for the late model version if you really want to use the 57N cam, or use the plate you have with the TW57.  The timing and lift are the same for both.
