05's Winter Upgrades Complete!!
« on: April 30, 2011, 10:27:29 PM »

Have spent thousands of man hours, billions of dollars and hundreds of lives getting these just right.  Sold the first set for 36 bazillion (US) to some guy that saw them and just had to have them.  Then reproduced the entire process and finally got all the work done necessary to complete this massive installation and update.

Here's the before picture.  Black top motor mount bracket and coil bracket.  E-gawds that's so terrible it was worth all the cost in treasure and blood.

Then the "after."  Powder coated top motor mount and coil bracket and complementary red spark plug wires.  I'm so exhausted now.

Well........ Spyder; it's like this.  You can see the mount bracket.  If you're squatted down beside the bike.  And look up just a little bit.  But once you know it's there....  Kind of like girls breasts.  Once you've seen one you're always looking.

Don, I am sure that the powder coater would not have the right shade of
yellow, and I don't have any more money(now that I have new wheels) I have no
time during the summer, and I only have one body and it is broken down and beat up.

I guess that's enough excusses for tonight. :bananarock:

If I had a spare bracket remaining I'd take it to the local powder guy and have him make it yellow.  Then post a picture of it just to mess with you.

Looks great Don, if you are into perfect no see items you need to turn up a cover for the horn mount and powder it red too, it can be seen if you use a mirror.   :huepfenlol2:

I.... uh..... well.... (I'm so ashamed) have that chrome.  Wanted to complement the look and break up the visual field (that you can't see) a bit.  Then again suppose it's no worse than chrome 12 point bolt on the powder coated shift arm for the tranny for the Road King project.  Not like that'll ever get seen either..... ::)  Man, I've even got chrome bolts plugging the ends of the oil line in that transmission to keep critters out until it's got an engine to hook to someday... :nervous:

Great idea color coating that shift arm on the tranny....I always hate looking at the back of that thing on a dresser.  That'll look bitchin' from the high-side of the motor.  :2vrolijk_21: har. spyder

The forward shift arm is done too.  Some of the forward shift arms are plain.  Some have a B&S logo in the middle of them.  Fortunately had one with the logo stuck in a drawer and it still stands out with the color coating.  Going to have a chrome shift linkage between them though.  To break up the visual field a bit.

And why would you want the BS logo to stand out on something so prominent on your bike?   :o  har.  spyder

Biggest reason is the contrast looks better than just another flat empty spot.  It is small though.  You'll have to look for it.

Don,

I can't believe you still have that plain rubber breather hose on your transmission.

I really like that 12 point on the shift lever, nice touch of ocd you got there.

Only for now to keep the hose plugged Matt.  Somewhere in the parts pile is one of the little short tubes that gets covered by a chrome shroud with a vent hole in it.  Wasn't going to waste time digging for it.  It'll find it's way to the transmission eventually.

Just new wheels for the BNANA Brad. Went with a 21 on front and 18 on back Renegade
Tahoe. I like the 5 spoke design. So far I have just ridden it home from the shop, looking forward
to first good ride to see how they ride and handle. Will post pics when I get my new Klock Werks
front fender painted and put on. I hope it will be an Improvement in looks and handling.

If you don't like the "covered" shifter, solid arms are available in chrome or ready for powder coat.
