Adding a sissy bar ??
« on: April 23, 2016, 01:09:46 AM »

I bought a sissy bar for my 08 fxstsse2 all my research says it should fit. Its off an 07 flstc if anyone has a sissy bar mountedcan you tell me did the mounts go on the outside of the fender struts? Is there supposed to be any other docking hardware or do I just need longer bolts?

You have to remove the curved " fender bar chrome trim" that the FXTSSE2 has as stock

Then they bolt to the outside of the fender rail , and yes , the fitting kit comes with loctited slightly longer torx head bolts

Now the FXSTC or Softail standard sissy bar will fit. Sounds to me you are describing a Heritage or Fatboy sissy bar ?

Any sissy bar for a 200 rear Softail should fit

Now that's the stock OEM seat and sissy bar from a 2007 and up Softail custom I've mentioned to you before in another post.

Fitted in rbaker's post to a 2007 FXSTSSE , and both will bolt right up to your bike

The sissy bar you're describing in the first post is NOT this one

rbaker's indicators have been moved due to the panniers most likely , not the sissy bar per se

The same seat ( in 2008 Anniversary colours and a "Twisted sissy bar") went right onto my mates 2008 FXSTSSE2 with no indicator troubles.
