If your staying with a SE cam then that is a much better choice than the stock 255.

Sorry to disagree with you Gunny, but the SE-255's are the stock cams in the Screamin Eagle 110 Engine.

I know of a number of them. I've ridden a number of them. I recommend that cam to anyone who wants to stay with HD stuff. It must be mentioned a hundred times here. That cam is very good for a stock 110! I'd be looking at doing lifters, pushrods, and maybe SE camplate to if I were doing that. And a 50mm TB should be used with it as well! ;)

the 251 is a great cam...I ran it in a 103 road king and loved it...be aware that this is a midrange cam and will actually make less torque than stock below 2700 rpm...other cams that would make better low rpm power are yuill 14 or t-man 525

I ran the 251 in a 113 build and it was a good choice, it pulls good!! It might have just a tad less torque than the 255 on the bottom end, but it will pull harder through the mid range and stay on longer as well!! :2vrolijk_21:

It will make alittle more engine noise than the 255 does, just so you know!!

If you do the cam change, you should do a SERT and have it tuned of coarse!! :2vrolijk_21:

As others have already stated, the 255 is stock in the  CVO 110. The CVO 103's came stock with the 253 cam.

Thanks alot for the advice guys, I am looking at making some changes this winter while my bike was in for the head recall. I've got the 50mm tb and a sert already. I'm currently running true duals and of course a high flo air cleaner. Cams and 2 into 1 exhaust are the next phase i'm looking at.

to put 255 cams in an '05 you'd have to buy a conversion kit including oil pump, cam plate, etc...not sure of the price but I'm sure it's several hundred not including cams

There is not enough spring travel in stock heads for the 255 cam
