Indenial:
I thought I'd try this. I've never taken a laptop on a trip before.  I'm on my way to Alaska. Got off at noon today and took off---like a kid at Christmas. Got 400 miles in, partially to get on the road, but mostly to relieve the adrenaline buildup.  I've got 8 days to get the the Fairbanks airport.  My wife is flying in for the Summer Solstice party there.  We'll rent a car and tour the Denali area for a few days, then she'll fly home and I'll continue my adventure.  I'll try to post pics as I go, depending on wireless connections.  Stay tuned.

8 days should give you more than enough time.  The days are long right now so you can get in a lot of miles.   Top off the tank when you can especially when you get up in the northern British Columbia area and into the Yukon.   Nothing but miles and miles of miles and miles up there.   Watch out for buffalo and moose and enjoy the ride.
