« on: February 19, 2019, 08:24:42 AM »

I have a 1990 Fxlrc that needs a frame seems there aren't many bikes out there but i found a decent 1994 FXR 2 would that be the same frame as mine? looks from photos to be the same. Appreciate any help.

There are some very minor difference.  Fairing mounts for the cop and touring models (FXRT and FXRP and maybe FXRD) won't be on some of the early frames.  There's an exhaust bracket on the early frames that doesn't exist on later frames.  It's just a tab and can be fab'd and welded easily.  Aside from that the same from beginning to end.

Having said that....

The FXR2 bikes are so rare and so cool one might (even should) consider an alternative.  Try not to cut up a rare an interesting FXR2 that's otherwise a complete bike to salvage a more common old machine.  Just one guy's thoughts....

Yeah I don’t want to cut up a nice bike so would the fxr frames be same deal then cause those seem to be much more common and thank you for your time
