New FLHTCSE just arrived!
« on: February 01, 2004, 09:47:08 AM »

Hi there!

I have been looking around this forum for some weeks now getting a lot of very useful information (Thanks!  :D).

Yesterday I traded my 2003 Ultra Classic for a Cobalt FLHTCSE that I had prevously test tided over a whole weekend (my dealer was kind enough to let me keep it for two days  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]). I must say that the bike is really great.

I plan to add a removable tourpack and change the seat to make the ride more comfortable for my wife (had to swear that the bike will be as comfortable as the Ultra).

I will post pictures after today's ride. Thanks again for all the great info about this great bike.

Miguel

JCZ,

I fixed the link... it should work now.

I ordered the road king comfort stitch seat (part no. 51157-04) and the tourpack backrest pad with armrests (part. no. 52395-03).

I looked at the Corbin seat, but shipping to Mexico is somewhat complicated so I prefer to use my local HD dealer. I dont know about delivery times, hopefully I can get seat and tourpack soon or my wife will kill me!

I just got back from my local dealer and everything but the antenna relocator kit arrived. They installed everything right away and I must say that the bike looks great with the king tour pack. I will post pictures tomorrow for you to see. The seat is great and finally the wife is happy.  [smiley=bigok.gif]

I'm going with the leg fairing vents again (had them on my Ultra Classic) too.  Just not sure which vents I'm going to go with.  I'm going to post a thread on group buy, see if we can get a better price.

$250 for either are steep.  I like the look of the eglides better (and look like the would direct more air) but the hoppe look to function better (from the inside of the fairing).
Desicion.... [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Litox, how long did it take to get your tour pak? I picked my bike up last week and ordered pretty much the same setup you got. They're quoting 8 weeks delivery but others on this board are saying it could take up to 12.

JCZ/Cabo, I think I am going with the Hoppe vents. Like you I would like the option of adjusting them while on the bike. Also agree that they seem a little to expensive for what your are getting...

I went with the polished stainless steel from eGlide Goodies.  I'll take photos and post them, when I get my bike back from Corbin next week.  They look very nice.....better than I thought, for the stainless steel.

SixtySeven,

I got my tour pack in two weeks, but I was ver very lucky. My local dealer called the factory and he arranged for the parts department to send it by UPS. The only thing missing from HD is the AM/FM Antenna for the tour pack and the spoiler with brake light.

Just got the call this morning. My Orange and Black FLHTCSE is at the dealer. Set up and ready to go, but I will  not be back in the state until Monday. Will probably pick up Tuesday night, I Know, I know  [smiley=worthless.gif] I will have the camera ready to roll for some shots by Wednesday if everything goes right! I was told a ship date of March 15th. So 10 days on the ship time. Everyone else waiting with ship dates in March should not have long to wait.  [smiley=beerchug.gif]
