Shutters from take off
« on: November 10, 2020, 05:40:23 PM »

Trying to figure out my friends 08 Ultra problem. The bike shutters a little when taking off in first gear from a stop. A local mechanic said compensator going bad. I would rather know for sure before dumping $$ in it. Any experiences with something like this?  Tkx

How many miles? Check the front motor mount. Comp could be bad also but typical they make noise when at idle or when shutting bike off you hear clunking. The 08 had the first gen of the new style comps so if it hasn't been changed it probably should be. The clutch can also cause some shuddering when taking off.

The bike has 55,000 miles on the original comp.
