but doesnt that mean they are both looking in the same direction?

Yes Sir they are!
Both are facing the intake side of the bike.
That's why I bolded "as viewed".
Because as viewed they are showing in two different directions and I would change that on MY bike.

But either way they look good.
Just my personal preference to be facing the same way as viewed!

But in the big scheme of things it's a detail that I noticed and would change if it were mine!
Since it's not,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Good looking bike BB!

I figure it's like flags on the sides of planes and ships. One always looks more natural than the other, but they need to be flying nose to tail, regardless of the "As Viewed" perspective.

And I can't believe Brian (103T) hasn't mentioned that.
Now there's an eagle eye.

Never mind 103, YOU missed something I figured for sure YOU'D pick up on Chip.

Sorry I gotta play with this post a bit. My post to Neal still stands, but for the less adept at mining the mind of Spiderman I offer this.

I started with a right hand and a left hand decal because that is what I'd had on the bike before. I wanted them both to be facing in the same direction. If the decals as they are on the bike were on the sides, they would both be facing forward. Mounted front and rear, they both face the same direction- - - - the right hand side of the bike. Any other configuration to my way of thinking would have amounted to one or both of them facing rearward. To quote Damon Wayans  " Homey don't play that "  My life is about moving forward. Always has been always will be. And they face to the right because traditionally people say that the person/entity most important to you is " your right hand ". While the actually pinstriping, lettering and decals might seem very subtle and basic; as with most things where I'm concerned, there is more going on than meets the eye. Sorry to turn this into such a head trip, but's that's just me being me.

Now that I went back and looked at the pic of the heads. Could you be refering to the locations of the CR's, one intake and one exhaust?

Bingo
I would have thought that Chip would have picked me up more for the Compression Releases than the Dragon thing because I referred to the 103 build up as " mild "

Chit I'm just glad to be on the list somewhere even close to the top.

As far as noticing the other stuff, I figure 2 out of 3 bikes that make decent horsepower have those.
Those are a given for me.
At least it's that way at my house!
Mild my A$$!

Thought about C/R's on the 50cc scooters but installed cupholders instead.
Seemed much more appropriate!

Captain Obvious - - - - - really ?  Gee I hadn't noticed

I mean the shaved head, goat, big and bad on a purple bike should have tipped me off, but maybe I'm just slow  ;)
