Are you saying you had to replace the tire after 5k miles?? I got 15k out of a rear tire, and still have the original front on my bike at 17k.

Pumpkins are easier on tires. I'll be replacing my rear at 11.5k, could get more but I ain't pushin' it.

$3.49 a gallon for premium in San Diego. My 03 H-D truck only burns premium and gets 13.5 mpg.

Seriously the only thing I can think of that attributed to the rear lasting so long is majority of the mileage was highway miles. :nixweiss: When I had it replaced no tread wear indicators were showing, but I wouldn't have wanted to go on a extended road trip w/it.

15,000????? I changed mine at 5500. Yes, I could have gotten another 1500-2500 out of it, BUT...got rid of it. 100 MPH on a bald tire makes me nervous!

Then they couldn't have been HBRR type miles! That thing wouldn't have gone half that distance if they were! ;) Hoist! 8)

Not sure that would be true. HBRR hi-speed miles are done from a roll on so there wouldn't be any burn-out wear and tear, and as far as I know those hi-speeds are done on dry pavement. So like NASCAR a slick may have provided a better traction patch. ;D

I truly don't do burnouts, but I do ride hard and take off hard. Just can't seem to help myself.
