1) The model 5D was produced in 1909 but was essentially two singles in a common crankcase.  Due to valve gear problems only 27 were manufactured.  Production of an improved model began in 1911 with the model 7D

2) The model F was 1,207cc (74 CID)

3) The Panhead was introduced in 1948.  Manufacturing was done in HD's new plant on Capitol Dr., Wauwatosa, WI, opened in 1947

1) the HD snowmobile was introduced in 1970 and sold poorly until it was discontinued in 1975.  It was available in either a 398cc or 433cc and had either a manual or pull start.  It used motorcycle style handle bars.

2) The year was 1981.  Chairman Vaughn Beals persuaded 12 other HD executives to join him in an $81.5 million leveraged buyout from AMF (American Machine & Foundry) control.  The group included Charlie Thompson (appointed president the previous year) and Willie G. Davidson.

3) The HydraGlide was introduced in 1949 as the 1st all new bike powered by the Panhead engine.  It was called the HydraGlide because it was the 1st Harley to incorporate hydraulically-dampened, telescopic front forks.  It was also the 1st Harley to use the word "Glide" in its name.

I got a book for Christmas called "The Ultimate Harley-Davidson", an encyclopedia of the definitive motorbike from classic to custom.  It's a coffee table book.  I saw the questions yesterday and waited a day to answer to give someone else a chance.  It's a pretty interesting read.

I'm the secret HD plant sent here to infiltrate CVO Harley, gain their trust, and report my findings to Willie G.  My one year mission is nearly complete.  Part of my prep for the mission was to learn everything I could about CVO's and the history of HD.  Now that my cover is blown can I stay anyhow?  I like it here.

Special_Ed,
Post some questions absent the answers at the bottom of the page.  You keep the answers and report back the winner, or winners, following each segment.  Just a suggestion, of course.  Later--HUBBARD
