Center Cool Water pump.

(1/1)

FLSTFI Dave:
Looks like the water pump is failing on my 2023.5 CVO Road Glide.  High temp light came on Monday leaving dealership, about 7 miles away.  Went back, they flushed and vacuum filled the cooling system.  No air bubbles at all.  Road 56 miles home fine.  Tuesday, 20 miles after leaving house high temp light came on.  Pulled into gas station filled it and let it cool.  Took off to home, high temp light came on in a few miles.  Fan never comes on with high temp light.  Stopped and let it cool, took off with engine temp at 145.  The 15 or so miles to home the temp went back down to 212, or normal.

Dealer has placed a pump on order for me.  It's under warranty until Aug 31st.  They say the ar having issues with some of these pumps.  Have you heard of that?

Dave, can you force fans on like the earlier models?
Glad you are under warranty, the dealer will have to figure it out.
Good luck

FLSTFI Dave:
The water pump has been replaced.  I only have a 56 mile ride and a 91 mile ride on the bike since.  The first ride I thought it was running hot, 228 to 236, 82 degrees out.  Yesterday 78 degrees and was between  222 and 228
