Title: New 2014 CVO Limited Dash Trim
Post by: scottt on September 18, 2013, 05:40:30 PM
I would greatly appreciate it if the owner of a blue CVO Limited would post a shot of the dash trim panel. I have only been able to see it on video. I own a 2014 Ultra Limited with the factory blue custom paint and think it would look great on my bike. I checked with parts and it is available without restriction. Thank you in advance

A Color matched inner always looks good  :2vrolijk_21:

I am not talking about the color matched inner; I am talking about the dress-up or trim piece that goes around the CVO Limited instruments, it looks similar to turned metal.

I does look great.  It's also on my gas tank and Air cleaner too.  It will really tone down all that glossy black on your bike which I really think is too much.  I think you'll love it.  Post pics after you do it.

Will do. I ordered the part. $60.90, not bad for what it will add. I will look into the tank trim once the dash is complete.

Yes, it reminds me of two cars I love; the 57 thunderbird I once owned and the 2008 Mustang Bullitt. I think its going to add a nice touch to my 2014 Ultra Limited, I am happy that it's not a restricted part.

The Bullitt, right, that's what it reminded me of.  Obviously the Trans Am too, but not quite as flamboyant thankfully. Yea, it's gonna look rad on your Ltd.

My dash trim piece came in; the parts guy told me that the part is now on hold and my part slipped in before the cut off. Looking forward to installing, love the trim piece. What is best to clean the surface before adhering? I don't want to sand the painted surface but feel that I should do something to clean the painted surface before adhering. The part is made out of aluminum with a gray or smoke coating ( this would look fantastic on a silver Limited ), it has a peel off backing that exposes the sticky stuff that hold to the dash.

Any suggestions for a cleaning agent before sticking the part to my dash?

Thank you
Scott

Use some Windex and follow up with a lint free cloth with alcohol to remove any leftover fuzzies.

I use quick detailer to clean everything from paint to trim.  I only use microfiber towels too.

Microfiber towels leave microfiber lint, and alot of it. That's why window tinters don't use it.

Did he give a reason for it being put on hold?

I don't tint windows, but I've never noticed any lint from my microfiber towels on the bike.

I was just told that the part was on back order and that it happened right after I placed my order. I am now guessing that they need the trim pieces for their CVO builds. The part came in a box without any type of instructions; it looked like a box that would be sent to the assembly line.

If you want the part, I am sure it will become available in the near future.

I stalled the CVO dash trim on my ultra limited, it really dresses up the dash. I really like it on my bike but think it would look out of this world on the two tone gray Ultra Limited.

looks great.

Thank you; this is the first time I remember that the factory used the same gauges on the ultra Limited and CVO Limited. They just added this part to the outside of the instrument panel area. Easy to update.
