Title: '07 SERK Rear Fender Front Fixing "nut" size?
Post by: Screamin' Al on June 03, 2010, 05:07:06 AM
Can anyone give me the type and size of the socket required to remove the rear fender front fixing nut. The Parts catalogue quote the "nut" as part#8081 NUT SPACER, front location (2) - not a great deal of help. The dealer is still saying it's the same as the rear ie a torx nut, but it is certainly not. It looks what I would call a "spline" socket, but the size falls between an 8 and 10 mm in my set. Could it be that spline sockets are available in imperial? I had thought that they were similar to Torx...only one standard.

I'll try to post an image of the "rogue nut"

Hope you can help.

Problem solved!! Although the female "nut"  is multipoint, I found an Allen key did the job. Happy days!
