The street cam is neat!
They need to find it, park all the bikes at a time we all know about and we can see all of them.
Dean
Hey, that would be cool!!! Rome has a live street-cam and I never thought of that. I might have to set up my recorder and go zip down Broad Street a few times!!! Where's the cam at? I'll call JC and tell him about it!!! Live Broadcast of CVO's...what an idea!From Cripple Creek Cam Webpage (http://www.cripplecreekcam.com/)......
Rode hard for 1,678 miles and put away dirty.............not for long but for now.
STOP BY AND SEE FIREDOOD, HE'LL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO GIVE YOU A FULL DETAIL. ;DSince it's already packed in a trailer, just send it to Virginia. I'll clean it up for your, and put it back in trailer all nice and clean (after I add a few miles on it [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]).

Is that bridge just for scooters, and pedestrians? Also is it two-way traffic on it? It appears to be awful narrow.
[smiley=pumpkin.gif]Ride Safe,Fired00d [smiley=fireman.gif]
Thanks for the information. That bridge would be a little unnerving. I get the shakes when going across metal expansion bridges and bike feeling squirly under you. This bridge is intimidating just looking at it, none less riding/driving across it, then to stop and take pictures, yikes!
Congrats on your 1000th post, and more importantly the 1001st post that now has made you a "1k CVO Member" [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
I'm definitely getting the feeling that not attending one of these events is going to be a major mistake. Just listening to the stories, and seeing the pictures it's a fun time that one shouldn't miss out on. I would put this right up there with going to Sturgis at least once in your lifetime if you are a biker. Attending a CVO event if you belong to this website shouldn't be something that one should miss out on. On that note I mentioned to the wife (causally to see what kind of reaction I'd get) that I was thinking about attending MV. I didn't get any negative vibes so far, so we will see how this develops. I don't have time off to do the entire event, but reading your recap and realizing that some that attend event don't stay for the entire time has made me reconsider.
So score now is: Attending Maggie Valley (for some if not all) 75% - Not attending Maggie Valley 25% [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Definite two way traffic Gary. Didn't get tight til you had bikes on both sides and pedestrians in the middle all at the same time.
Don, great pic, I bet you didn't even notice it was Canuck and me coming toward the camera. Sweet I saved the pic. Thanks, Roger
Well, if you had to ride over THAT bridge to receive the other half of the pin, I'm glad I'll only have the 2nd half. No way ole spyder is riding, walking, running (maybe crawling) over that bridge unless someone's got the 'drop' on me. [smiley=nervous.gif] har! spyder
TwoLane, what kinda cord/strap/lanyard/???? do you use and have you had any close calls doing that? I might try taking somemore pics w/ this new dig. camera since you don't have to look thru a view-finder.......I almost drove off the bridge down in the Keys taking pics w/ the old camera. Quit doing that then, but.......if you've figured out a good way..... [smiley=confused5.gif] spyder
Rog, I've got a good/bad habit of riding with the camera around my neck and on my lap. [smiley=drink.gif] .
On our way home from CC Susan and I stopped in SantaFe, NM on the way to Dallas. Forty miles from our motel in Snyder we were hit by a dust storm, high winds (as in blow you off the road) and then wind driven rain. Thank goodness out in the middle of nowhere we came upon a small roadside rest stop that had two picnic tables with a roof over them. We stopped there for one and a half hours waiting for the wind and rain to subside. A couple of times I had to hold on to the bikes to keep them from blowing over. Every trip is an adventure. We got to Dallas and we were about 20 miles from home when the rear axle bearings in Susan's Fatboy went out causing a terrible noise and a wobbling rear wheel. As luck would have it our local HD dealer was there with a trailer in 30 minutes to pick it up.

Thanks, Don, and BTW, the pics so far have been great! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] spyder
FWIW, I think all of the few pics I've posted so far were taken while on the bike and cruising.

Definite two way traffic Gary. Didn't get tight til you had bikes on both sides and pedestrians in the middle all at the same time.Add to that the wind, and our batwing fairings. [smiley=nervous.gif] Those flags are sticking up like a GI home from boot camp. :o
But for narrow you needed this little bugger. Man, when that semi passed Naitram I didn't think they'd all fit!No way!!!! [smiley=nervous.gif] Where did this road lead to, and why would a semi be on it, that's scary.
Or, said another way, the score now is: Detailing 101 seminar by Fired00d in Maggie Valley 75% - Dirty Bikes for everyone 25% [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif][smiley=ROFLOL.gif]

d00d, don't you recognize the road to fond memories. It went to Canon City actually and is called Skyline, I imagine because it crosses the skyline and you can nearly touch the sky from there.Maybe it's called "Skyline" because when you encounter semi's coming from the opposite direction there is a chance you are going to fall from the sky? [smiley=confused5.gif] :'( [smiley=nervous.gif] That place where you are stopped at looks about the only place I would feel comfortable with a semi passing me in the opposite direction.
Here's one of us parked on it after the semi went bye.

d00d, I better ask you to check and see if one your legs is longer than the other before you get hurt putting it down at a light and tip over.
Ummmm, Gary, well, er.... you see, well.... um.... what Rog is saying here is that there are snipe on that same road chasing the semis after they've come from their cow tipping. That funky little paved strectch is a one way, no passing, no big vehicles, twisty curvy, really cool little playground. I got no idea who it was that was yanking your chain about Neil getting passed by a semi. But whomever it is was a cruel evil sumbitch 8-) .Ahhh, I get it. I've been had. Let me look back to see who was the one that got me on this. [smiley=confused5.gif]

Geez, d00d, am I going to have to take away your detective title? You had to look back [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]I know I was so involved with getting the "nitty gritty" on that other case that I let that slip me. I'm going to be watching the perpetrator from now on however. :)

Well I figure since [smiley=worthless.gif] and I have mostly completed the trip and the details I would end the saga of the trip having riden home from the pick up point with my dirty (filthy dirty) bike with a picture of the SEUC before I put her to bed. Especially dedicated to d00d [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]That's what I'm talking about. You have to come to MV now I'm going to need some assistance when giving detailing lessons. ;D
[smiley=shocked2.gif] Rjob, that thing got a HEMI? Cause it sure ain't got no wing! [smiley=shocked2.gif] :o [smiley=nixweiss.gif] ;D :D ;)
.......Wing is in the garage which makes it easier to make dump runs.Hmmmm, wonder what he's taking to the dump that he has to get it there that fast? [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

When people ask why I need a 500HP truck, I say, "You never know how fast you might need to get to Home Depot and back." ;D
Congrats on the 1000+ posts! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
The photos of the bridge and summit were unbelievable. Makes me really wish I had attended. Will definitely have to plan to attend next year, 'eh!!
