I ordered a replacement battery today. My original battery is getting a little weak after 4 years and almost 55,000 miles. I'm going to try the
Yuasa GYZ32HL Battery. They say it has 500 CCA's and it has really good reviews. Amazon has it on sale for $159 and it is supposedly in stock. So, as they say, we'll see!

I've been using that battery for sometime now, expecting delivery of one today as a matter of fact. I did have to return one in july for a full refund and they just recently came back in stock, I get mine at batterymart, I think I paid 169 after a coupon code. I change mine out every three years just because.

Rode home from Daytona Biketoberfest yesterday.  Great ride, 60 for a low and 69 for a high, sunny all the way.  Little over 1500 miles on the bike this trip, had a blast.  Sons of Speed was fun, but dang hot out.

I swapped the original handlebar for an FBI EZ (Fat Baggers 1¼ "Pointed Top Handlebar 10" Chrome).
Easy installation of the cables due to the EZ Install - no more need to fight internal wiring. The clutch cable was laid a bit strict, but I was able to move it a bit.
I'm absolutely thrilled with the new handlebars, it rides a lot better straight away.  8)

Took a nice little 200 mile ride with good friends on a beautiful Indian Summer day. It got up to about 70 which is rare up here this time of year. We dined at a new to us spot in the little town of Riner, Va called Buffalo and More that serve buffalo meat raised on their own farm. It was probably the best Buffalo burger I've ever had.

Then circled back home across Route 52 with the trees in pretty much full on fall color.

If this ends up being our last ride of the season, it was an epic one to end this year on.

Did and oil change, check the belt and other fasteners.  Then gave her a real good bath.

The day started out at 24 degrees up here in the mountains but eventually warmed up to 55 or so.
Decided to pull Ol Betsy out of hibernation and give her a little outing before the snow starts flying.

These days the Road King gets most of the attention but the ol 2004 still runs and rides good, but it definitely feels different and has a more nostalgic feel to it.

On another note I will be getting my dads candy apple red 1982 FLH, with only 10988 actual miles, running this winter. I did a preliminary review of it last Friday and it will need new tires, new battery, new throttle cables and both front and rear brakes feel like mush. I also anticipate having to rebuild the carb. Other than a little dust it looks just like the day it rolled off the assembly line, it should be fun riding it around once I get it going, as you don't see many stock 40 year old bikes running around anymore.

My dad called her Big Red and I only remember riding it one time around 1987 I think. I was riding my first street Harley, a 1980 FXE that had been in a fire, that I built from an engine and transmission to look exactly like a 1982 indigo blue Wide Glide. I remember dad saying I couldn't handle that big bike, LOL. I said Pop, the main difference is the front wheel and 6 cubic inches. LOL

We haven't seen this much rain in Washington, they say since 2006, so between work and the weather I hadn't been out for almost a month.
Yesterday there was a pause between the rain clouds and my only dry option appeared to be to the south. I live about 35 miles up the I 5 corridor so for me that meant the Seattle area. So I jumped on Southbound Hwy 99 to avoid the freeway and headed down through the new Aurora Avenue tunnel bound for Alki Beach in West Seattle and one of my favorite fish and chip places called Spud. The bridge that connects West Seattle to I 5 and the rest of the world is closed for long term repairs so I had to follow the detour signs and find the long way around.
As I arrived at my destination the sun came out and made the whole experience worth while. Well that and some awesome fish and chips.
After I arrived back home I proceeded to dump and replace all 3 fluids since the odometer clicked 55,000 on my little jaunt.

So all in all it was a great day!

This pic is a view of the Seattle waterfront from Alki Beach.

Good for you Dave. Did you say that you are fully retired now?

Medically Retired, November 14, 2019 was last day I worked.  Went on Disability insurance in January 2020, then SSDI in June 2020.  Disability insurance lasts until I am 65, which is 6 years an 4 months.

Bad thing is, even though SS is going up, my income will not change as my insurance goes down the exact amount SSDI goes up.  If I choose to earn any money, my insurance goes down by what I earn.

So, yep I am retired.  Planned to work to 65, so maybe it's a good thing I was forced to retire.  I sure am enjoying it so far.

Well good for you Dave. Sounds like lots of hoops, especially dealing with your health concerns but you definitely seem to be making the most of it. I turned 65 a month ago and I'm planning on pulling the plug in a couple of months. My major health concern is with my eyes. I just can't see working anymore!  :bananarock:
