What are the biggest 131” numbers being posted? What are the biggest gains from baseline?
What are the combos? Let’s see the graphs.
-
How about hp/tq, before and after on my 2017 CVO Limited upgraded to a 128”?

Boom. That’s what I’m talkin’ about. Nice gains. Nice numbers. Thanks for the chart. :)

How many miles since the build?
-
10,000 miles since the build. The way a Harley should perform from the factory. Flawless. Runs cool even in the heat of summer. Endless power. I gave up a little hp at the top end in the tune because I wanted 140 ft/lbs as close to 2000rpms as I could have it. I can smack the throttle at ANY rpms and have instant power.
Took the bike on a 5500 mile trip last year. It ran absolutely perfect. I’ll take this 128” build any day and twice on Sunday over an HD 131. You’ll never find an HD 131 that comes remotely close to the performance and reliability of a well built 128” with quality parts. And the great part is the 128” build cost far less than an HD 131”.
And I bought an aftermarket warranty that fully covers the entire 128 engine upgrade (and the rest of the bike) for 5 years for less than half the price of Harley’s ESP, that won’t even cover the 131 unless you have it built at the time you buy the bike.

Heatwave I just completed my 131 build. Mine came in at 136/150. I did not use the Harley cam or exhaust. BUT my dumbazz tuned it with the HD tuner. While I am happy with the build I hate the HEAT!!!
I do have an extended warranty but I want to get a couple thousand miles on the bike before I change the tune.
I have a T-Max and I am thinkin I'm going to make the change real quick. I just need to find a tuner close to me.

Do you have a dyno chart? It would have been nearly impossible to get those #s with a 131 that used a HD cam and an HD exhaust. If your ESP is with HD I think its very likely that if you make a warranty claim, your HD warranty will be voided if they discover the non HD components in your build.

Heatwave if you read my above post. I stated I DID NOT use the Harley cam or exhaust. I used the CR480 cam and D&D exhaust. I am in my 2 year warranty period right now and yes I do have the ESP with Harley. I also used a fueling race oil pump and cam plate along with fueling lifters.
I'm not sure I will have any problem with a warranty claim. Hell I hope I don't ever need one.

Good luck and enjoy the build. That’s terrific power that should be a blast to ride.

In my world of non excitement now days. It even put a smile on my face. And I did this upgrade all by myself!!!! So when I look at my total cost on this entire engine upgrade, I chuckled a bit!!!! Now it's almost time time for the NON EPA tune and see where it actually ends up.

What is a EPA or a NON EPA tune?
-
I know a few dyno tuners that can help win this, just saying. Dyno, software versions, weather, correction factor, use of fans. Fun and games.

That’s what I was thinking.
And since I’ve seen 110”-to-117” Twin Cam builds that made 145hp / 152tq, I’ve been hoping to see (at least) the same specific output achieved by a 117”-to-131” M8 build.
160+hp and 170+tq anyone? Bueller?
-
Easily done on a legit dyno at street compression. 160 tq at 131". Now for the bad news, non harley pipe, cam, tuner and added compression different from the box kit

That would be a heck of a 117 twin cam build

150tq 117, twin cam??? :confused5:

That’s not really bad news for me. I’d rather have the output than the official warranty.

Here’s the post:
Here's one we finished up last week. Customer was looking for mid range/top end pull and I think we delivered that pretty well. We used SE cylinder/piston kit, Rick Ward CNC heads, SE 58mm TB, S&S 635HO cams @ 10.5 compression, and a D&D Bosszilla.

Tell me more. :coolblue: :coolblue: :coolblue: :coolblue:
Can you get that 131” to 160hp / 170tq?

130" reply #25. This build is a touring application.
