I have tried probably all the ideas to rectify the mess and most work well but........

I am tried of trying to keep the oil filter change oil from making a mess of the wires under the filter and have come up with an idea.

I am just about finished with a proto type and I want your opinion on it.

I am making a shallow cover you can screw on to the filter housing so you can wash the area before putting a new filter on.


Now what do you guys think, is this something you wish someone would make and would use or buy one and how much would you pay for a device like this.

Its purpose would be to keep cleaning fluid from getting into the filter housing while washing the area below the filter.

oh by the way for some reason there is no lip on the housing.

I will post a picture of what I have made soon.

Ok what I did was cut the filter and took a 2 inch pipe cap and filed the edge of the cap to snuggly fit the cut filter.

Thanks for posting the pic above.  That's a great idea and makes for a really heavy duty cover for the filter housing/adapter.
